We probably don't need to tell you who Deadbeat is. (He even did a previous RA Podcast for us, all the way back in 2007.) But if you need a refresher, he's one of the most important and revered artists in dub techno. The Canadian artist came up in the Montreal scene alongside other trailblazers like Akufen and other Canadians (think Cobblestone Jazz, Mathew Jonson, Wagon Repair, etc). His early records for ~scape are some of the most classic and influential minimal there ever was, but dub is always at the heart of his work, and runs in the veins of BLKRTZ, the prolific label he runs himself.

Sa Pa, on the other hand, sits somewhere in the ambient zone. Originally from Adelaide, he's found a powerful creative sparring partner in Deadbeat. The two released their first album together, The Mountain, earlier this year. It's the 50th release on BLKRTZ and maybe one of the most monumental records in either artist's catalogue, a triple-LP that harks back to the hypnotic, plink-plonk days of yore with the strong cross-genre underpinning that marks Deadbeat's work these days, and plenty of lovely atmospheric wiggles.

The duo's lengthy RA Podcast, taken from two different recordings at their Absurd Dub Lustre party in Berlin, mirrors the LP's sound, weaving through tracks new and old. It's full of warm, dubby vibrations and smooth transitions.

For this one we'd like to introduce Danlie Zuluaga a.k.a Klavier.
This project was born in 2018, as a part of the Metropolitan collective, in Medellin, Colombia.
He is currently developing a Live format, Elemental Map, alongside Santiago Hurtado a.k.a Sahgah.

Deep and hypnotic atmospheres blended with surrounding groovy percussions are to be expected from his sets and this one is no exception.

Episode 16 | Organic . Matter | Dorian Gray

Dorian Gray is the reflective persona of the Italian producer and DJ Moreno Mariotti, an artist whose comprehension of techno music is a far cry from any conventions. 

Dorian’s musical craftsmanship is influenced by his interest in astronomy as well as esotericism. Trance rhythms, detailed ambient pads, and intervening acidic loops shape Dorian’s signature sound and provide a clear glance at this artist’s inspirational flow and intricate creative process. 
His work appeared on labels such as @thegodsplanet, @edit-select, @deepbass (Informa Records), @space-trax Berlin and many others. In 2020 he launched his new label DORIAN.

Born in Colombia, Andres grew up among the mountains in Valle del Cauca. Inspired by native diversity and the voices of nature he begins his music journey in 2017. Today’s experience is a very calm journey inspired by the depths of Colombian nature.

3024: Please describe the mix in a single sentence ?

EHUA:  "This mix is dark contrasts, bursts of sunlight and rhythmic complexities all the way, it explores the entire emotional spectrum."

3024: What DJ inspires you at the moment / has inspired you throughout the years and why?

EHUA: "Flore’s DJ sets are some of the best sets I’ve seen in recent times. The skills and the selection are always next level. But through the years I’ve been inspired by so many incredible DJs from so many different scenes - from minimal techno, to dubstep, drum and bass, jungle - my inspirations are countless."

3024: What are you working on / what have you got forthcoming?

EHUA: "At the moment I’m working on a bunch of projects in between touring and I have a few tracks coming out in the next months. I’m also exploring lots of new sound directions, I’m going through a phase where I constantly have a lot ideas and I excitedly and disorderly jump from one to the other. It’s fun though, it feels good."

Michelson has been part of the Night Digital Ambient Crew for many years. As a drummer in various bands and stage musician at the theatre, he has developed a clear preference for live performances - music as a living experience instead of recorded studio work. And yet we are happy to finally have the first release of his (mostly) electronic solo project in our hands after a long wait. In an impressive way, he succeeds in bringing all his influences together - and above all in expressing his love for the slightly weird and trippy. There couldn't have been a better choice for the second release of the Nachti Ambient Tape series.

He always stays in the background, rarely releases his music - an EP on the Leipzig label Holger Records from 2015, as well as a contribution to last year's Nachtdigital record,  are his only releases to date. This is his first full-length offering: A glistening trip into the depths of heart, soul, and nature - like warm summer rain on a Sunday night. What better way to say farewell?
