"Always (I Look to the Cross)"

Through the cracking mirror, I see my  reflection,
A fractured image of a broken man.
I pause for a moment to study the pieces,
Wondering aloud how it all began.

I’ve got my face looking out my window,
It’s cold outside and it’s raining again.
Another page browns, and I’m another year older,
The kids in the streets remind me of them.

Always, I look to the cross,
Even when I’m not looking.
Always, I look to the cross,
Even when I’m not looking.

The winds that cry in the darkest evening,
Continue to scream out my name.
Jesus saved my life and gave it new meaning,
A prodigal son – I’ll never be the same.

Now when I look into that brighter mirror,
I can see His face looking back at me.
The years I spent crying me a river,
Keeps bringing me back to Calvary.

Always, I look to the cross,
Even when I’m not looking.
