I am a bass player, a music composer and make music arrangements

Hi ! I am Amy Lavoie from Quebec, Canada and I graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in Eco-consulting at the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi.


I've been playing bass for 30 years and mostly played metal, rock, punk and alternative. In the summer of 2020, I was starting to gear up to produce a symphonic metal album in the Nightwish style, but for different reasons I decided to put my efforts on hybrid orchestral music.


To achieve my goals, I took mixing, mastering and theory courses to be able to make more complex arrangements. In the summer of 2022, I took a course with Alex Pfeffer on film trailer music, among other things, like his album Chaos Theory written for Two Steps From Hell. I also took his course on video game music and the seven modes. Always looking to improve myself, I just started another cours to perfect my bass technic and theory with Scott Devine.


I have released my first hybrid orchestral music album "Age of Collapse" in 2023. This album is inspired by the multiple global crises such as climate changes, loss of biodiversity, socio-economic inequalities, wars, diseases, etc.
