I've had problems with family members in my life to the point where having them around became toxic and I had to distance myself in order to grow. I made this song to describe what that experience is like.

I have never opened up in my music about my childhood. I decided to share a small portion of what I've been through as a child and what I'm still dealing with as an adult. This song was a difficult for me to open up about but I know that someone who has been through a similar situation can relate and I hope that this can help them know they aren't alone.

My whole family been struggling with drug addictions
Put in foster homes & separated from my siblings
But somehow they found a way to blame me
I’m just blessed that I ain’t let it change me
Can you imagine how I felt
I was only like 5
Moms breaking shit and screaming cause she can’t get high
Hugging my brothers
All we could do was sit there and cry
Ignoring the pain but deep down I was screaming inside
I needed help
But my father wasn’t there I guess he was just too focused on his self
And now that I got older I’m just tryna focus on my mental health
And the only way to do that is to close this book & put it on the shelf
Close this chapter of my life cause it’s time to put that book back on the shelf
