I bought my first Frankie Knuckles record in 1987, the tune was titled "It's a Cold World" I had been hearing amazing things about Frankie from my friends that would make the 4 hour drive from Detroit to Chicago to hear him spin at Chi-town's legendary club's: The Warehouse and later in the 80's, The Power Plant. Frankie Knuckles aka "The Godfather of House Music" was known for his amazing 6 hour DJ Sets and his terrific Remixes. The second Frankie tune I remember buying was "Tears" a groovy song he did with Chicago legend and former Fingers Inc. vocalist Robert Owens. But it wasn't until 1991 that "The Godfather" took the world dance floors by storm with his massive hit: "The Whistle Song." Frankie had finally gone Global! \o/ This Mix features "Tears" and "The Whistle Song" and a few of his remixes that you maybe didn't know he was a part of. So if you just love good 'ole fashioned House Music, This Set is definitely for You!!! (Enjoy)

here's my 2nd remix for the album "The Havana Remixes" by Bahama Soul Club. Out May 12th vinyl, CD and digital files.

"Hot on the heels of their critically praised album "Havana '58" and with fans worldwide clamoring for more, The Bahama Soul Club has now called upon a brilliant range of producers, DJs and artists to put their own personal spin on Bahama's latest release. Sifting through the album's finest moments they worked their magic on selected tracks and rebooted them into pure rhythmic bliss: "The Havana Remixes" is a bright collection of Latin, House, Jazz, Funk, Soul & Disco with a thoroughly modern take on Dancefloor Jazz.

Opener "Muévelo Papi" is a stirring 60s Boogaloo-hip-twist by the mighty Club Des Belugas, while Geordie mate Smoove from Newcastle turns “No Words” into a fusion of Jazz-house and Breakbeat. Opolopo pulls "Dizzy's Bounce" deeeep into jazzy House while Maestro&Vezzola and Chinchin's Zouzoulectric vs. Gardener Of Delight both having a diverse view on "Tropicana Flight", giving it a Disco-Latin-House-Funk treatment.
Suonho from Italy jams a more modern Soul-Disco-Funk on "No Words" and amps up the funk quotient on "Muévelo Papi" with a touch of Jazz and a Latin Twist. Rounding off the release is an unexpected Nu-skool Brazilika-brukbeat from Positive Flow aka Jesse Reuben Wilson on "Elegguà" and some solid Latin funky breaks from Jack&Jointz on the rolling "Rumba Fugaz".

All remixes are mastered by The Uncle and very special radio-edits were made exclusively for the beautiful 180g vinyl. Containing nine tracks, this 12" looks like a neat introduction for newcomers and a nice round up for long-term Bahama Soul Club admirers. The full extended versions of all remixes will be released on CD and Digital formats."

Inspired by Ian Pooley's "Lite Juice" in which he sampled and filtered this Chaka Khan classic into a wonderful piece of house music. We rebuilt the song using more of the samples and keeping it the original BPM and adding our own flare.  Additional Bass by Isaac Freed

"Volume 3" is musically inspired by the first song "Buttercup" by the incredibly talented Mr. Tony Momrelle. I used to play Tony's songs all of the time a few years ago, as a matter of fact i did a "TM Tribute" in 2014. I'm totally thinking "Buttercup" is going to be one of the biggest songs of the Summer? (We'll See). Well, back to Vol.3 this Set is really Soulful and reminds me of a time when I first started to play Dance Music. Tunes from: Angel-A, John Legend, Maysa and Art of Tones should definitely keep your feet moving. So make some time and make some space and get ready to Groove... (Enjoy)

Take a journey through the chromosphere and explore the spectrum of colors, sounds and stories the Kromanauts are ready to share with you. Washington, DC's own Kromanauts deftly fuse together reggae, hip-hop, ska and more to create irresistible tropical soul.  In 2018 the band released their debut album and are excited to follow up that release with remixes of the album's title track, Nothing To Lose.  


The Kromanauts tapped some red hot producers around the world to reinterpret this track and first up is Jayl Funk from Germany.  Jayl Funk fully embraces the vibe of the original and doubles down in every department. Get ready for harder hitting drums, bigger basslines and some really cool horn lines throughout.  The result is to take this groovy reggae track straight to the dancefloor, this remix will get the people moving and grooving all night.  Complete with a full breakdown and build-up, that hangs on the vocals until the drop for full effect.

it seems that I'm officially addicted to vinyl again (LOL). We're already on session three which is really my fourth all vinyl set in the last few months, whew knew? "Volume 3" like most of my mixes tries to take the listener on a musical journey within the House Music genre, from "Soulful" to "Afro" to "Deep" and even some "Disco" flavor sprinkled in for good measure.
