Summit Sessions 031 (13-08-09)

This week we get back to bit more of an old-school prog sound.  Along those lines there's some great entries from a Luke Chable/King Unique collaboration as well as Eze Ramirez (one of my recent favorites).  While this might be the first mix in a while I haven't used an Edu Imbernon track, it DOES have 3 that are somehow involved with Royal Sapien.  Wasn't really intended to be a Royal Sapien Lovefest, but damn they make some good music.  Enjoy and share!

For Opulent Temple's 2019 annual Wednesday night Sacred Dance party, we were hosted by our friends at Playground since we didn't have a sound camp this year.  I played 10-11 before Carl Cox.  So the goal was walking the fine line of being engaging & building energy but still being a proper "opening set" for Carl, and not hot dogging it.

2 songs (Sunshine & Peanut Butter), were by my friend and vocalist Ida Flo, who sang live up on stage next to me.  The night was pure magic, the energy gorgeous, the vibe palpable.  Hope this takes you back, let me know what you think!

SUMMIT SESSIONS NOW AIRS MONTHLY!

In 2011 Brian Bacchus started Summit Sessions at the request of a friend for a monthly mix.  At the time the show circulated around just a few dozen people at best.

Fast forward to 2017 and the show had grown to a 2 hour long weekly spot, syndicated across multiple great internet radio stations.  Through internet broadcasts, this profile, RSS, and other social media, Summit Sessions reached out to more than 300,000 listeners per week in over 200 countries!

Beginning in 2018, Summit Sessions returned to airing monthly to an entirely on-demand audience (SoundCloud, MixCloud, iTunes, etc.).  

The success of the show can be attributed to the incredible quality of the guests- both Brian's local St. Louis friends to international touring household names- Summit Sessions is always about delivering exceptional, meaningful music.

Of course, this didn't all begin in 2011.  Brian has been DJing since 1999 with residences at large venues in San Francisco, the UK, Omaha, and Las Vegas.
