This track was something different from my ordinary workflow. Usually my tracks stems from a live recording with little to no editing. This track on the other hand led me down another path. I sampled a trumpet solo, and magled it through my hardware granular looper and recorded 30 minutes of evolving loops. After hours of splicing and joining of different sections of that recording, all that that was left, was this simple repetitive, Basinski-esque track.

As hypothermia sets in, & the hazy winter fog seeps around this begotten environment, a whisper of hope shimmers in the distance...

Out of Time

A piece built upon a simple plucked strings sample, looping and piling upon itself over and over until it becomes a wall of sound, a consequence of its own reverberant ambitions.

This was part of the 7 ambient sketches live session, given a bit more polish in the machines.

Consequent

This is the Hierophlex half of a "split track collab" between my two main projects, each delivering a different interpretation of the same theme.
My original intention was to keep the two interpretations as separate visions, but as I progressed with this "collab" I couldn't help tying them together in the end...

Hawkdream is a live instrumental music project founded by Brian Brown, who is a talented musician from the UK. He creates some of the coolest spacey synth music out there! He started out in 2012 and so far has released over 17 Hawkdream albums. The music of Hawkdream has layers upon layers of diverse, spatial ambience. There is also some really cool Tangerine Dream elements interwoven at times. Anyone digging Kitaro or Vangelis will also dig this music! In our opinion, there seems to be an overall feeling of Nature flowing with the Earth as one, a true essence of serenity merging with the dark waves of time.
