Within Our Sight

Ancillary Sword is the second book in Ann Leckie's trilogy. It has all the froth of "civilised" society (drinking tea from prized tea sets) but with deep undercurrents of enslavement and genocide in its history. 
I've tried to capture some of that duality... perhaps it makes it a bit odd? Anyway, here it is!

about a place where dignity and justice had no space... during the so called military junta, greek WWII heroes were jailed in a so called cc on leros, to keep them silent.

they might have been and received little food but were freed, when the junta failed to conquer turkey, after turkey had declared war.

the Turks tried to capture Cyprus - a mostly Greek, later EU Republic, and did not fully attack due to atomic submarines owned by the Hellenic forces since 1973. 

instead the Turkish occupiers darkened the hair of 5.000 Christians and killed them in coldest blood.

nowadays the Turkey is getting angry again, oppressing Christian nations for bad reasons.

Scholz is not dumb enough to shake the hand of an oppressor, Baerbock is smart enough to stick to Hellas - the country that will never die or surrender.
