In early 2014, Mike Smalle (formerly Cane141/B-Movie Lightning) and Italian producer Matteo Grassi joined forces as Augustus & John with the sole mission of making an album. In the coming months and with a collection of hook-laden songs, the duo released their debut ep ‘Crosslines’.This earned them radio play from the BBC, Chris Coco and An Taobh Tuathail, as well as receiving praise from Nialler9 and The Irish Times. This Summer sees the duo release their 11 track debut which pulses with hooks and atmospheres inspired by everything from Ambient to Slow-Motion-Disco, Italo-Pop,Rocksteady, House and film soundtracks. The duo are currently working on a new live show.
