This is a track from a few years ago.  I recently remixed it with some new parts.  This song is why I think I have ADHD.   

You may know the title from the sound a teenager makes once they've figured out they know everything.

A song just built on slaps and taps of stuff on the coffee table using only headphone mic. For the first time ever I started with a hummed phrase first here which was cool. I'm usually singing over an established instrument.

Our morals. For pea head they are born from experience and shared understanding of pleasure and pain. Once we remove psychopathy from our frame of reference and accept that every human is potentially the same then moral reality looks like it can be reasoned, explained and evolved with society.

Creeds like to tell us science can't offer a foundation for our morality and that only the divine can deliver those. However all creeds disclude millions and billions of other people that don't adhere to that creeds belief system. Here a reality based on collective morality disappears so I'm not sure we can ever ground our morals in quasi metaphysical beliefs. It has to be based on common sense minds have agreed born of what we know we like and what sucks and with a foundation that we are all equal and feel good and bad experiences similarly...

So I guess a future where the place we are born does not determine the level of our human imposed suffering is attainable but possibly only if we ground our morals in shared reality as opposed to shared imagination. Chance is chance, but natural disaters aside, that would be a pretty cool world to live in....

This is a song I probably would have never written let alone released in the microcosm of my own ego before having kids. Now I have kids, all the goodies are fair game no matter style ✅♻️

Also, Multi genre is something I've gone head first into in the face of computer programs being able to short cut the creative process for people to get there. Whether you empower those projects of plagarism or not is your own perogitive but I like to show it's possible, with practice to deliver yourself any style at all from your own abilities. I don't mean to sound like I'm blowing my own trumpet, but in the face of these tools we have now I think it's important to highlight that you do not need them and I would argue you get much purer original results striving to get the result yourself for every single bit of a creative piece. That's art... Asking yourself, how can I express what I am feeling? How can I develop the skill to do that expression. Remember ai has all been programmed by works made by humans, we are humans so I'd suggest considering not being limited by it and seeing what your body says instead of what the program guesses you might want based on what is likely a model build on plagarism to start with. Plagarism aside, which is the deal breaker for me, even the humans used to program them, it was their feelings, not yours, so are you really expressing anything of substance at all? I guess thats a personal conclusion so I can't speak for prompters but it's certainly worth thinking about properly and announcing that by using it you are evolving music to me is fairly narrow-minded and kind of spits on the face of artists that work their lives to generate unique expressions through art by real feelings and sacrifice through skill development.

For this idea I sat having my morning coffee & my youngest daughter Alma had just been amazed by Elfie showing up from the north pole. So I in my head said, feck it I'm writing a Christmas song. I sat there imagining it first and I had Frank Sinatra buzzing around my head. It's actually the first time I hummed the song first, recorded the hum and then built the music around it as I wanted to honour what was in my head. I believe that was a valid part of Michael Jacksons process too, he would literally humm a part to be translated to an instrument. If you have a solid ear and good reference pitch I can vouch for that, using your voice to seed melodies is a great way of expanding the result and not being limited by the more difficult expression on the instrument itself right off the bat.
