put your respirator on and grab my hand, the one that has four fingers/
the longer we laugh and check our phones the glowing ash and bitter cinder lingers/I feel I might be moderately ill so if I fall call the keeper at the station
the new interim acting manager just faxed that if we find a place or space of isolation we can ask: why try to deny that the sky and the forest are on fire? unless there's still a chance that we're asleep

here's a sad story with a happy ending that started up 11 hours ago:

i had a blind date. we met on tinder. she took an uber over for dinner at my modest condo/i made a marinated flank steak in a cast iron skillet with braised leeks and yams and a very nice chablis/i took pictures of the preparation and the lovely presentation/ it was spectacular or at least it was to me/you see my date she left quite early and in a manic fury i uploaded all the pix to my feeds/put it all on instagram story, medium blog post and a long but tastefully threaded tweet/it got lots of likes and mentions and beyond my best intentions the next part was so sweet: a semi-major social influencer reached out to me. 

and so at 9:30 this morning in just about a minute for a small fee she's reposting to her instagram/i texted my date the great news but like the others she's now ghosting me so i guess i'm just no one's jam/but i don't care b/c in just about a minute - with the meal still in my body - it will hit 9:30 and the world will see what i'm about/all my hopes and aspirations and everything i stand for. look out world it's all coming out! this is me
