They range from the early 90s to 2009 with some heavy plays during the Simons era and beyond. I included some vinyl rips which give it a bit of a raw feel throughout and a heavy dose of beat mixing so hope you enjoy it.

At the time I had no clue what Nazar meant. It was just something that popped in my head while playing for a bunch of weed smokers.  I thought it sounded cool.  Nazar became the weed and the weed was speaking to you as you listened to the mix was the concept. 

Fast fwd almost 16 years later and come to find out the word is Arabic for an amulet that protects us against the evil eye. The same one hanging in my doorway given to me as a bday gift/peace offering by my friend Sherif Abdalla aka my favorite Egyptian a few years ago. 

The theme of this mix throughout is love, harmony, peace & unity. Brothers and sisters stop hating. Nations come together. The music is timeless and the message more relevant than ever. I’m thrilled to share this personal journey with you the best way I know how by spreading my message using records. 

Djing is my life! I don’t care about all the ego driven things that consume the culture these days. I just strive to connect the dots for some good people along my journey that are looking for something different. The same search that got me into this scene back in 1991. 

It can be a difficult road, but my skin is thick. I will continue to push ahead without quit. I am a lifer. My soul is serious! My love is the underground! Wherever that may be...

Tampa Bay native and a DJ since the 90’s, Brian Busto has worked for the last 30 years to keep the flames of the underground alive for the most Serious of Souls in the Tampa Bay area. Since he fell in love with dance music on one fateful night at SIMONS over three decades ago, Brian has never looked back. Busto first started DJing in 1994 with his first residency coming a year later at Beanjuice. A queer run late night haven for the house heads, ravers and weirdos of the Tampa Bay area. From Beanjuice, Busto went on to earn his first residency at The Castle courtyard in 1996 along with starting his second afterhours in 1997, Silver Meteor. From there Brian Busto went on to curate legendary nights in revered Tampa venues such as Rain Lounge, Malios, Bahassa, Ceviche, Hyde Park Cafe, Iberian Rooster, and The Castle. Wherever the location, Busto remains on the front lines, pushing cutting edge new music, ignoring trends, and always staying true to his roots. 

Brian Busto is a genre-defying DJ that loves to dig. You’re always going to get something unique, from tough cutz loaded with swagger to hypnotic rhythms that lift you right off the floor. Sounds from stateside meccas Detroit and Chicago as well as overseas Italo and Balearic flavors provide pleasant twists and turns throughout his sets. Uniting it all, in his own words - “I always play deep.”
