The City of Angels has played an intrinsic role throughout Markus Schulz's storied career, and as part of his 2015 city series production project, this relationship was a certainty to be honored. And with Avalon, it is upheld in emotionally beautiful fashion.

Los Angeles was among the first municipals anywhere in the world to embrace Markus' body of work. And thanks in particular to the long nights and mornings of paying tribute to the DJing art at the hallowed Avalon nightclub in Hollywood, the bonds established by fans from near and afar could only be expressed with a production like this.

Very hypnotic rhythms on Blue Dawn and a Middle Eastern motif lies throughout the track.  Rolling baselines, tight production, and a very wide feel gives this record sustainability in clubland.  Mona is a mellow pretty affair with great synthesis and sound design work. Melodies are sprinkled throughout the track in a very intelligent way and it’s a very pleasing record for both club and relaxed listening. This is the forward sound of the underground. BLUE DAWN (ORIGINAL MIX) [EXTINCT RECORDS]

The release begins with the title track and finds Brian carving out one of his most distinctive grooves to date. Layered beats and mystical pads set the piece in motion before an underbelly of warm bass swells fully initiates the journey. Highlighted by soulful vocal stabs the first act strikes an emotive chord, foreshadowing a break of warm harmonies and cinematic tones, ultimately leading to a third act of timely drops and heart-warming rushes. It's one of Brian's most unique creations and not surprisingly it comes from a special place, as he describes "Belles Du Shaman is a musical story of pain & struggle as well as hope & light. The hard drums and synths set the tone for this deep, pulsating and melancholic EP, that drowns in a sea of sounds, touching every weak corner of my heart. When I wrote this track I had just visited the mountains of Utah, more than 10,000 feet up. In a night of music and stars I was moved by how powerful and meaningful a space in time can be. A land that provides us with water, food, shelter... it gives us life as well as meaning. Imagine losing this. How it can impact our life and culture as well as our history and being. The end result of all these feelings and realizations came out in this track."

Kicking off the week with this groovy psychedelic soundscape set played by Safak OzKutle AKA “Oceanvs Orientalis” is a formation which aims to challenge the aesthetic perception in electronic music.

It blends itself with the archaelogic tunes of mankind’s cumulative musical history and in this very context believes that “everything comes from the east”.

Despite of being an electronic-based formation -due to practical reasons- at the moment, it intends to transform into a dance (to move the body and feet to music) orchestra where each instrument will be played by its own instrumentalist.
