This song was inspired by a sermon at my church titled “What On Earth, Are You On Earth For?”

PURPOSE. We all have thought about at least once and potentially thousands of times in our lives. Personally, I’ve been thinking about since I was about 13. I used to sit and watch the sunset on Casey Lake and ponder the meaning behind life. 

What I’ve learned over the years through experiences and reading over 100 self development books is one simple truth. PURPOSE is not something you find, it is who YOU are. But reading a quote like that doesn’t really answer the BIG QUESTION. “What On Earth are YOU on Earth For?”

A song inspired by the Mantra on Anguilla's sign at Blowing Point that said, "Tranquility Wrapped in Blue. What is your shade of Blue."  Sitting on the adirondack chairs in front of the Dune Preserve looking at the hills of St. Martin in the distance was magical.  We could have sat there all day.

Minnesota Singer/Songwriter Brian David writing songs about life, love and personal growth. There is two types of singer/songwriters. Ones that tell a story and ones that make you feel. Brian David is the latter of the two, writing his first song at the age of 15 when his mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and hasn’t stopped writing since. After putting out 3 albums and 5 singles, Brian took a break from music in 2012 after having his first child. In 2017, he lost his wife, Amie Muller, an Air Force Veteran to pancreatic cancer and has since written over 80 songs about love, loss, grief and personal growth. He recently released a song inspired by his son Jace called “Ladder To The Sky” which was featured on WCCO. The song is a heartfelt track about a boys dream to see his mommy again. Brian David’s current single  “Brō’kənlē was just released June 25th, 2021 and will move and inspire you to love deeper and dream bigger and be sure to give you chills. 

Brian is working on releasing an EP in 2022 title “The Mountain Is You” with songs about resilience, personal growth and purpose.
