Syvia exists where the Northern Lights of Norway meet the skyscrapers of New York City. The Brooklyn-based indie electronic band is led by Ruth Mirsky (ex. The Drums), an American-Norwegian citizen who was born and raised on the Bowery.  Their latest single “Brother” will be released just before their first performance of 2019 at The New Colossus Festival in NYC. 

Emotive guitar riffs intertwine with atmospheric synths and pulsing drums to create a brand of dark, brooding electronic pop sure to entrance listeners. Under the Radar says, "Fans of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Cure, and My Blood Valentine, you’re going to eat this up.” Meanwhile, Impose Magazine writes of their single, “’Anxious Animal' breaks down the anxiety and nerves to a primordial level that feels freeing and empowering.”

Syvia’s songs have been featured on TV shows such as Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Stitchers, The Vampire Diaries, and ABC's premiere of 666 Park Avenue. Syvia was a Green Label Sound/Soundcloud Undiscovered finalist a few years ago and toured Scandinavia as part of Brooklyn Brewery’s first ever “Brooklyn Sound” program. Syvia is currently writing new music that blends pop, rock, post-punk and electronic genres.
