Hi,
I'm a singer/songwriter based in Derry, Northern Ireland.
In terms of influences, I suppose the biggest would be Glen Hansard/The Frames, Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Mark Geary, Josh Ritter, Will Oldham, Daniel Johnston, Bill Calahan, Iron&Wine, mostly acousticky stuff that's a bit lo-fi.
My plan is, I guess, to write songs and make records in that sorta lo-fi vein, see where it goes.
And, of course, get massively famous. ;)

Oddsocks are a Sligo 4-piece who aspire to remember the importance of the elements that make for great music: melody, harmony and groove. They have developed their sound over the past 4 years to create a music style that is rich in vocal harmonies which they describe as Rhythm and Groove.

In late March, Oddsocks will release their new  EP “Something Going On”. This will be their third release under their own label Jeanie Mac Records after their debut album ‘It’s Time’. This will be preceded by the online release of their single and music video for the title track ‘Something Going On’ on March 18th.

On the record, the band are joined by keyboard player Kieran Quinn who, through the use of the Hammond organ, Rhodes piano and grand piano, helps to create a different mood not heard before with Oddsocks. Funky guitars, stacked vocal harmonies and vintage piano sounds skillfully colour each of the Ep’s four tracks proving that these boys are as dedicated to the craft of songwriting and making records as they are to playing a dynamite live show.

Oddsocks are Anthony Mannion on guitar/vocals, Luke Mercer on guitar/vocals, Michael Conefrey on bass/vocals and Danny Young on Drums/vocals. The four met in Sligo while still in school through a love for classic rock music and have since been on a journey of musical exploration which has lead them around Ireland and the UK and to their current base in Dublin’s north inner city. 

The band have gigged across Scotland, England, France and Holland as well as hitting the festival circuit ( electric picnic, Edinburgh Fringe, Volvo Ocean race, Sea Sessions). Now with a new Ep and further releases penned in for later in the year and a tour of Germany planned, 2013 promises to be a busy and fruitful year for Oddsocks.

Caolán Mc Laughlin is a BA music graduate, singer, and multi-instrumentalist with keys being his no 1. He has been gigging professionally since 2002 growing many a branch along the way, forever progressing and working hard on his craft. As well as being a cruise line Piano Bar Entertainer known as Keys Mc Laughlin he works passionately on original music, gigging material and recording as well as touring the world entertaining mainly Irish Pubs, regular pubs, festivals, parties and other venues catering for almost any gig. I live in the Beautee-ful Derry City in the North of Ireland.
I've been writing songs and music for many years.
The tracks included here are ones I've written down the years and recorded with different groups.
Currently I'm employed as a community artist during the day and at night I gig in local pubs as a cover act, mainly (2 piece doing anything from Elvis to Kings of Leon as well as original material). I also play internationally as part of a 7 piece Irish Trad band, Sheegus.
I have a Bmus Honours degree (Music), a HND in Music production an an ND in Popular Music.
