Motion Notion 2013 - Live DJ Set

Here's the live recording of my DJ set that I performed at the yearly Psytribe Spring Frequency event in April 2021. It was a transitional set, from 11pm-1am on Saturday night, after an amazing techno set by Dela Moon. Starting at 130bpm, I gradually built it the energy up to 144bpm over the course of a fantastic 2 hour journey that felt amazing. Especially because it was the first, proper party I had participated in since the pandemic and my country began taking a positive path again. Much love and thanks to everyone who was a part of that moment, and to you for listening and sharing in it with me. I'll try to post a tracklisting in a few months, once I've given the unreleased tracks I played some time to get released!

Spring Frequency 2021

Recorded live at a Sunday day party in Woodley Park, Los Angeles, for my friend Daniel Lostoyz's birthday. It was a great time, lots of fun in the sun for friends and family. I had a blast with this set, most of which consisted of tracks released on the incredible Stereo Society music label!

Psytribe Reflections May 30 2021

It was a family and friends affair, a birthday party for one of my favorite Israeli friends in the world, and it was so good to dance outdoors in the sunshine again, and reconnect with my psytrance familia of Los Angeles again, after multiple pandemic interference over the last 2 years.

They asked me to headline and close the party, for the sunset. I of course said yes, and put together a set that had me, many times, dancing just as hard, behind the decks, as the party goers on the other side of the DJ table were dancing.

Wow, Ozora Festival 2022... What an incredible experience. Located in Hungary during the first week of August, it was one of the highlights of the 2022 festival season. After a 2+ year pandemic that caused the cancelation and delay of almost all musical gatherings across the globe, 2022 marked the return to dancefloors again, and we were once again able to reunite with old friends, and make new ones.

I was both excited and honored in late 2019 when I was originally asked by the Ozora organizers to DJ the main Ozora Stage. And after waiting 2.5 years, I was finally able to experience one of the best DJ gigs of my life. It happened on August 2nd, and lasted 90 minutes, from 11:30am to 1:30pm,  and it was something I will never forget. Performing on that stage, to such a huge crowd of thousands of smiling, energetic psytrance fans, I had a blast the whole time. If you were there, I hope you enjoyed yourself. Ozora Festival 2022

Wow, what a welcome to Goa! This set was extremely special for me. My father passed away at the age of 92 on January 17th. As part of our healing process, my mother decided she would go to Mexico to be with her family during February. I decided to go be with my external family: my amazing friends in the psytrance community, many of whom would be in Goa. 

Two weeks later, I landed in India, and was greeted with a gifted DJ set from my very good friend and brother, Diego (Digoa). He was booked to play the 4:30-6am slot for the official Hilltop after party at one of the most amazing beach clubs in the world, Glory Goa. He had already played a sunset DJ set at the main Hilltop party the night before, and I can't thank him enough for giving me the opportunity to have such an amazing DJ experience as I had. 

It was amazing, cathartic, and I felt my father's soul with me as I gave it my all. The crowd and the crew were incredible, and it was a perfect moment to dedicate to the memory of my father, Don Petterson, may he rest in peace forever. Love you, Daddy.  <3

I think that is reflected in these DJ sets of mine, because I was definitely feeding off of the energy of all the dancers as I tried to figure out what track to play next. Oh yeah, in case you didn't know, I always play without a plan, and let the music and dancers help me to improvise on the fly. PulseLA Re:Ignition April 2016

This DJ set was recorded live at the Éclipse Festival in Québec, Canada, on July 31st, 2016. It was a real honor to play there again; the last time was in 2007, and the festival has really blossomed and become something even more incredible than it was before. Tons of fun to play, this set starts off with a more melodic sound, and then evolves into some deep psychedelia.

Spring Freakuency 2017

This is a live recording of my DJ set on the Sun Stage at the Oregon Eclipse. It was the closing night of the stage, and my set was from 21:30-22:45, in between two of the biggest names in psytrance: Earthling (my co-partner at Zero1 Music, Celli Firmi) and the legendary 1200 Micrograms (Riktam & Bansi, Raja Ram, and Chicago). Not only are they amazing musicians, but I'm proud to say they are all also dear friends, so it was a real pleasure to perform between them. Suffice to say, it was one of the most important sets of my life, and I'm happy to say that it went perfectly, in front of a packed dance floor of thousands of international psychedelic eclipse chasers. Pretty much everything about the Oregon Eclipse was perfect, for me, and I couldn't have had a better time dancing and DJing there. Thanks for everyone who was able to be there during my set, and for those of you who weren't, you can check it out for yourselves. Long live psychedelic music!

Oregon Eclipse 2017

This was my DJ set for "Another Intimate Night With Perfect Stranger", recorded live on June 30th, 2018, at the Public Works SF club in San Francisco. I was honored to be asked by Perfect Stranger to close the party from 1:30am till 3:45am, after he did a 4 hour set from 9:30pm-1:30am. The crowd was about 300 people who rocked the dancefloor while we performed, and it was a heck of a good time. Hope you enjoy this set, it was a fun journey to create.

Live recording of my DJ set from the "La Ritual" monthly warehouse party here in Los Angeles, from 4am-5am on March 9th. I played after the headliner, Deedrah, who absolutely smashed the dancefloor, so I needed to keep the vibe blasting. I had a great time playing this set, and the dancefloor energy was off the charts. Ozora Four Days in California

This is the recording of my Sunday night set at the 2019 Psytribe Freakshow Mojave Masquerade. I had a lot of fun playing it, because it was an interesting one. The DJ before me ended with a 148bpm track, and the DJ after me was going to start with something similar. I decided to make a bit of a journey with this one, going from a harder, faster bpm then lowering it down to a bouncy, slower, chunkier groove, and then building it up again at the end. Straight through, it's psychedelic, and I hope you enjoy it!

Brian Sentient - Ozora Festival 2012

This DJ set was recorded live at the Hilltop venue in Goa, India. I was honored to be asked to DJ the side stage, which opens after the main stage shuts down at 10pm. Hilltop Goa Feb15 2020

This is the recording of a 2.5 hour set that I began playing shortly after the clock struck midnight on December 31st, 2020, and we all got to say good bye (and good riddance!) to the worst year of the 21st century. It was recorded at the music studio we have in the back yard of my home in Los Angeles, where my housemates and I celebrated the start of 2021 with about 10 close friends, dancing the night away. 

Here's to a better year for all my friends, family, and my fellow music listeners, lovers, and dancers.  Thankfully, I'm pretty positive it will be a better year, mainly due to the fact that tomorrow we finally get to say goodbye to the worst president in the history of the USA. After that, we can hopefully begin working to heal the damage he and his corrupt administration caused to this country, and the world.

New Years Eve 2021

Label administrator and resident DJ of Zero One Music, Brian Sentient hails from Los Angeles, California, where he has been one of the top psytrance DJs for many years. He started DJing in San Francisco in 2001, with the legendary (((Thump))) crew. Since then, he has been deeply involved in the psychedelic trance community of California, and has also brought his DJing to a global audience, not only as a psytrance DJ, but also playing a mesh of techno/tech-house for gigs that require a slower BPM.

He has had the pleasure of playing on the main stages of some of the biggest psychedelic festivals, clubs, and events in the world. Places such as: Origin festival in South Africa, Ozora festival in Hungary, Boom festival in Portugal, Brazil's Universo Paralello festival, Quebec's Eclipse festival, Las Vegas's Electric Daisy Carnival,  Lightning in a Bottle festival in California, all over Goa, India, and also the awe-inspiring Burning Man festival. 

Before Zero One, he was a label DJ for Alchemy Records in the mid-to-late 2000's, and then joined with Spun Records in 2010 and released his first compilation, "Be Spun", which included some of the biggest dance floor tracks of that year. At the end of 2011, he and the rest of the Zero One crew formed Zero One Music, and Brian has been rocking the world with amazing music ever since, continuing to convert the masses to the psychedelic trance world with his special ability of showcasing user-friendly, groovy, uplifting, and melodic (yet always psychedelic) music.
