After a bit of a hiatus, Blue Veil aka Daniel Clancy is back on his own label, ‘Dichotomy Records’ with a new 5 track release titled ‘Urban Alienation’. Ambient interludes, and break-beat excursions abound as Clancy brings the listener through an emotive journey laced with introspective moments.

Our premiere for today, ‘Imagination Of Ourselves’ pulls at the melodic heartstrings almost immediately. Bittersweet synths set the scene as layer upon layer of intricate percussion is added to great effect. The textured pops and micro beats add enjoyable auditory details into the mix, making for a tight swing and feel to the track.

Imagination Of Ourselves, and in turn the rest of ‘Urban Alienation’ will be released December 17th.

PREMIERE: Blue Veil - Imagination Of Ourselves [Dichotomy Records]

To the lands of Switzerland, does our gaze turn today. Zurich based Project Indigo is looking to one of its founders for the latest release. ‘i thought it was yesterday’, by boaksi is an emotive album full of twists and turns from ambient to breakbeat, showing off the skill of the swiss producer’s grasp on creating moments that will hang in the air even after the final note is played.

Fermi’s Paradox comes in as the B3 side of the double vinyl release, with the dulcet tones of boaski starting almost immediately and enveloping the listener in their warmth. Mix them together with a tastefully done guitar riff, breakbeat percussion, and a hint of melancholy, and you’ve got a winner on your hands. 

‘i thought it was yesterday’ will be released in digital on April 9, 2022 and vinyl in late summer.

Moving through the mountains, the car illuminated the dark road ahead, guiding them as they careered around corners and darted amidst the mist.

It was cold outside, they had been in transit for some time - nestled in their cabin whilst the glimmering white of the snow capped hills was reflected in the glow of the headlights.

The nights were long here in the thick of winter, he imagined it might all look very different in the summer when the snow had melted and the green had returned.

For now he was happy being lost in the murky white abyss beyond the windows.

Donato Dozzy remains one of the most intriguing and thought provoking producers and DJ's out there - making him a perfect candidate for a remix of Bas Dobbelar & Vand. This one delivers in mood and tonality as you might expect - deep moving dance music underpinned by intelligent sound design and a key understanding of ambience and texture.

Side A begins with Stojche, the Macedonian techno veteran. A pumping dubby techno fitting for the late night dancefloor. It follows with a cracking collaboration between Thor, the head honcho at Thule Records & Ohm, the man responsible for this release. It‘s an enigmatic dub techno journey –finely crafted as expected from those veterans of the scene. The flipside beginswith Waage, the mysterious dub techno wizard, who offers an atmospheric and meditative dub techno extravaganza. It‘s subtle, yet intriguing. The ambient dub techno legend Yagyabrings the release through the finishing line with his signature powerful glacial techno with dubby chord progression that has made him such a force to be reckoned with in the scene. OHM Series is the brainchild of the establised Copenhagen-based techno artist OHM (Bjarnar Jónsson) and was founded in 2021.

Brickman creates music at the intersection of dub techno, deep house, and ambient. The artist employs multilayered sound textures, classic dub echoes and reverberations, electronic rhythms, and deep sub-bass components—achieving a unique signature sound.


The project's first release came out in 2010. Collaborating with Russian and European labels, Brickman has released his work on vinyl, CD, and in digital format. His tracks have been supported in the DJ sets of John Digweed, Marco Carola, Hernan Cattaneo, Deepchord, Kirk Degiorgio, and Nadja Lind.


From 2010 to 2019, Brickman was actively performing live sets and DJ sets at venues in St. Petersburg, including clubs Stackenshneider, Mosaique, Efir, Griboyedov, MOD, and Berthold Center, as well as on the airwaves of RTS.FM and Vinyl Jam, and at festivals like Abstraction and "Vperyodsmotryashchiy" (The Forward-Looking). Brickman participated in the Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp and created soundscapes for a number of art exhibitions.


Since 2022, the project has continued in a studio format. To craft his distinctive sound, the artist uses analog and digital synthesizers, samplers, along with various types of processing, synthesis techniques, and audio workmanship.
