Now is the timeless image of our time. A pause. A momentum. The bridge between the past and the near future. Simply TODAY. It is our world, which we have created for ourselves. Spoken words meet electronic sounds.
2021. Corona pandemic. The nightlife was functioning in a limited way, and electronic music was looking for new forms of expression. Helmut Dubnitzky participated in the interdisciplinary theater production "Jetzt!" by the theater label Tacheles and Tarantismus. Here he produced the music for the production and became part of the stage action as a live musician. He performed a cyber Jesus, playing in various sessions and live sets. A window into the depths of the World-Wide Web. A space for the state of being lost. The foundation for his third studio album was laid.
Enthused by the actors' role work, expression, dynamics, and precision, Helmut Dubnitzkys decided to continue the work with the artists in the studio. The starting point was often just an idea, an instrumental, the text, or the groove. The musical arrangements framed the acting scenes and entered into a rhythmic symbiosis with the spoken word. This coherent harmony is created and reproduced with every track in the album. With his experimental excursion, Helmut Dubnitzky takes the listener on a journey into the innermost part of the human being and gives electronic music a new context. Pop-like structures, such as verse and chorus, give the actors space for their stories. A concept album composed of individual fragments. The moods of the individual tracks oscillate between dreamy, laid-back vibes and thoughtful, energetic flights of fancy.
The groove remains a unifying stylistic device that runs throughout the album and forms the DNA of the tracks.
NOW is the extraordinary result of an intense genesis.

LoopMan - Sefu (Original Mix) [YHV RECORDS]

We happily present our seventh release on Joyfriend! Hacker & Miethig supplies two driving arrangements for the dancefloor. And since it’s the second time we invited friends to provide an EP for our beloved little label we took it on ourselves to craft the accompanying remixes. Paflo, Illy Noize and Philipp Harms share with us their take on “Lehel” and refine the EP into this well-rounded package.

Starting as a straight groover with a hard hitting bassdrum and driving percussions, “Eisbach” revolves around a masterfully deconstructed synth-line into a rather harmonic twist during the third part of the track, delivering a strong feeling of development and telling quite the story on the dancefloor. As we instantly thought about revisiting the piece upon first audition, Eisbach surely offers itself to find its way into numerous sets.
Paflo’s take on Lehel adds some layers to the original, infusing the piece with funk and a certain sense of urgency. Syncopated drums and a variety of additional synth tracks go hand in hand with a steadier arrangement in general.
Taking things slower but maintaining a certain sense of heaviness, Illy Noize’ interpretation of “Lehel” appears to be a more focused take on the material. It features a simple yet very effective drum arrangement upon which thrones a haunting triangle.
Tense arpeggios dominate Philipp Harms’ version of “Lehel”. The evened out development of all elements provides a welcome change in pace for this EP. A clear and fleshed out drum ensemble with certain woodblock hits taking the front seat supports the general flow of this version before the EP finally moves to the original itself that these remixes are based upon.
Atmospheric bits and pieces form the stage for “Lehel”, the second original on this record. Hacker & Miethig’s preference for deconstructing seemingly simple arrangements comes to the fore again, when the main synth’s steadily pumping pattern changes, or rather breaks, in an unforeseen way. Flanked by a swelling arrangement of pads and the ever pushing drums, the piece comes to a close, where harmonic variation again serves as the big payoff.

Biography:
VLKN is a Turkish DJ based in Istanbul. His real name is Volkan. 
As he averages adolescence, he fanatically discovers electronic sounds.After listening, dancing and vibrating with the beats of electronic music, he decided to insert himself fully into the universe of the trays back in 2003. For some years now VLKN has used vinyl as the preferred format for his presentations.He believes,that it is the most noble and beautiful format to be able to transmit what flows from within when making a set. His passion for music has lead him to start creating his own productions, where he is looking to continue to develop his unique sound. Currently he is working on his second single.(His first single which played in set, not yet released) 
Dedicated to their work, their music is depicted by distinctive and powerful bass lines, melodies and emotions, following their unique Indie Dance,Melodic and Progressive genre. 

His sound incorporates warm, beautiful melodies, groovy basslines, and more than a touch of class.He seeks to touch the hearts and minds of dancers with improvisations based on their set, setting and atmosphere. Be on the look out for his future releases as they are packed with grooves and uplifting sounds, designed for the dancefloor and more.
