From the picturesque coast of northern Lebanon and the Mediterranean Sea comes the debut release of the artist known as Babe Grand on the imprint 1302 Records. It is not only the debut release of the artist, but also of the imprint itself.

In an age when the horrors of war and terrorism, racial injustice, and sexual misconduct inundate our daily lives, No More Hurtin’ is a timely and relevant plea for us to end the hurting in the world. Babe Grand expertly combines pulsing strings and rich, booming brass over a driving beat, allowing the soul of the song -- the vocals provided by legendary House artist Robert Owens -- to beg the question, “why can’t this nonsense end?” 

No stranger to diversity and adversity, it is quite fitting that No More Hurtin’ is the debut release for label 1302 Records, aptly named for the region in Lebanon in which it is located. Often regarded by most of Lebanon as being “the good-for-nothing North,” the microscopic label keeps on persevering and moving forward -- oftentimes in the literal dark because of routine power cuts by the government -- to creatively overcome obstacles to achieve its goals. It is this ideology to keep pushing forward even through the dark toward musical unity that drives the staff of four on to discover and cultivate and promote artists who’ve faced similar circumstances in their lives and yet keep tenaciously moving ahead with their music.
