Named after a track by legendary bluesman Howlin’ Wolf. They’re from Liverpool, consist of Benn Helm (vocals, guitar) and Andy Paton (electronics, trumpet) and are recent signings to legendary London label, Wall of Sound.

Killaflaw have been likened to a number of other acts – “like Led Zep meet the Chemical Brothers”, “the missing link between Soundgarden and The Prodigy” – but really they have a sound that is uniquely their own.

‘Revolution’, won Xfm’s Demo Of The Year award, and then a low-key release of the ‘Set Me On Fire’ single organically spread around the world and topped the DMC charts in the US. It was played on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, NME Radio, Xfm London and many other independent stations, and Utah Saints produced a remix of this track. There are now more than 100 home-made YouTube videos that use ‘Set Me On Fire’ as a soundbed – strong indication of its grass roots popularity.

Killaflaw have played played at UK festivals such as Glastonbury (West Dance), Bestival (Big Top), Secret Garden Party (Temple of Boom), Glade (Main Stage), Beat Herder (Main Stage) amongst others various London venues such as Koko, Brixton Jamm and Proud, they have also performed at MTV, BBC and Filter Magazine shows. On the continent, Killaflaw have played at Kazantip in Ukraine, Pravda in Moscow, Bodrum Carnival in Turkey and toured in Germany and the Czech Republic.

In the summer of 2010 they were joined by former Pendulum and Apollo 440 drummer Paul Kodish for several festival shows, and their single ‘Happy Daze’ was released on Westway Records in April 2011.

Their debut release on Wall of Sound, the "Broken Idol EP" was released in November 2013 and featured Freq Nasty and DDPLGNGRS on remix duties. The Killaflaw Remix of Bloody Beatroots ft Paul McCartney was released through NY heavyweights Ultra. 

They are currently gearing up for their 2nd release and album due for release on Wall of Sound this year.

My first love in music is old skool house -  hardcore -jungle. As you can tell from the mixes on my page i also enjoy some more current stuff, from breakbeat to garage and drum and bass. I don't stick too one genre when it comes to what i mix. I'm not a big time dj and have a few guest shows on www.dnbheaven.com. I mix on cdj's with not a sync button in sight lol. I have a small following on here and get shown some love for what i do so for me that is enough for now.

Ben has been on the cutting edge of music for the past 20 years. As a producer, songwriter and performing artist; he has always sought out innovation and originality in music. Ben has a real talent for developing artists and creating for them an original identity.

After playing in London’s gig circuit as frontman for numerous rock bands for a couple of years Ben’s band Alien Breed was snapped up in 2000 by award-winning Independent label Delicious Vinyl home of Tone Loc, Pharcyde and The Brand New Heavies. Touring through the states for four years in classic venues such as the Whiskey a Go Go, CBGBs, House of Blues and some fantastic outdoor events X-Games, Bluetorch, South by Southwest. Touring with bands such as Incubus, The Deftones & The Fun Lovin’ Criminals. Then being signed by Universal Records and releasing their well-received debut album “Antidote” with their single “Colorblind” reaching #9 in the Billboard Modern Rock charts and topping playlists of 99X and KROQ.

Ben has worked as a producer in some of the top recording studios in the US including Soundtrack NY, Hollywood Sound, Record plant, Artisan, Mixroom. And worked with Grammy award-winning producer Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Kasabian, RATM).

After 5 years away in Los Angeles, Ben has returned to London to establish his new music production company "Man Machine" which specializes in developing new cutting-edge pop/rock artists and music for TV, Film and Video Games. His music has been featured on soundtracks such as Alias, Dark Angel (Fox), Chameleon III (Paramount), Birds of Prey (WB) and Real World (MTV). My track "Colorblind" is currently being used as the theme for US late-night variety show MDN, on Spike TV and on their website. In addition, I have produced music for several video games including BMX XXX, Legends of Wrestling 2, Xtreme G Racing, Evil Twin and Alias the game by Acclaim
