Esteban Ikasovic is one of those artists which came out of the blue but you see all over the place nowadays. And there's a reason for that of course, because the Argentinian producer is simply very skilled! This time he drops two new originals on Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings label, accompanied by a big remix by industry veteran Golan Zocher. Essential stuff for the progressive house community!

Esteban Ikasovic - Broken Drive

Deersky’s Soundteller Records opens the month of September by welcoming 2UP and Sergio Avila for a collaborative EP. Based in Chicago, Sergio made his Soundteller debut in 2020 with a contribution to the label’s popular ‘Vibrant Vibeland’ series. Meanwhile, 2UP who is based in Mexico makes his label debut. Together the duo have delivered a well received release for Dear Deer’s Black division and now they join forces once again on Soundteller with ‘Introspection’.

Known for their peak time sounds, the title selection continues the duo’s penchant for unabashedly epic music. Firing beats, machine gun style rhythms and a tight, rolling arp lay the foundation for a smashing dance floor slam. Vocal overlays add depth and character at timely moments as atmospheric phrasing, buzzing stabs and glassy clusters marry for magic moments leading into the break. Progressively more melodic across the centrepiece, the duo elevates mood with symphonic style motifs, before pulling back for a hypnotic drop and driving finale.

The companion piece ‘The Under’ lowers the tempo a touch but is equally powerful with it’s muscular groove and devilish electronics. Once again vocal elements add a complementary touch, playing off delicate arps and timely clap delays across the first act. The main break serves to elevate mood through further development of the vocal, before wisely pulling back for a thumping drop and key changing finish. It rounds out two monstrous tracks from 2UP and Sergio Avila, a duo who seem to have found a great creative synergy. Highly recommended.

Spalamp are partners in music, producers, DJs, live acts…Both came from Italy, Marco studied during his childhood piano and trumpet at the Academy of music playing in an orchestra and Mirko started djing after buying the first record vinyl at early ages. The two Djs met in London and later moved to Berlin, an inspirational frontier that is allowing them to enlarge their bonds.

Their production and music are a mix of new original sounds, using rhythmic structures to create a unique style, difficult to establish within a genre, with a great electronic influence… Definitely a music that can make people dance feeling their deepest emotions coming alive.

To the rise is a 3 track EP melancholic, dark and emotional with driving grooves and explosions of sound. The melodic groove of To the rise puts you in a state of emotions. Universe emotionally drives you with a melancholic break melody line. The sound is warmest with an ethereal atmosphere with long build up and catchy chords progression. When you listen to it, you enter an unknown universe in which you can only enjoy dancing and letting yourself be carried away by the beats.

And of course the awesome remix of Malandra Jr, who began his career when he was very young studying piano and clarinet in the conservatory graduated with honors, won several awards finding in electronic music his real passion. He mixes his deep knowledge of classical music with electronics perfectly captured in To the rise remix making you travel out of the world through harmonious beats perfectly placed on the track.

The label head of Uxoa Dutxa Elite is back with new sound material, Di Rugerio presents an interesting and powerful EP of three tracks oriented to Melodic Techno, a significant release called XXX that alludes to his 30th birthday.

To start we have XXX that begins with a hypnotic sequence with a slight tension in the background pad creating an atmosphere between darkness with an energetic Techno rhythm while melodic riffs appear that evolve in the automation of its filters, leading the track and inviting you to the mind of its creator.

Elevatio is a track that begins with the danceable bassline sequence accompanied by majestic and recondite atmospheres in the background giving entry to a simple synthesizer sequence that will elevate you to ethereal worlds with the melody that arises from a new synthesizer that is slightly arpeggiated and with its filters altered at every moment giving it a greater mystery and always amalgamated with the characteristic rhythm of Di Rugerio.

Invictus is a track that maintains the mystical and dark energy with a powerful and robust kickdrum accompanied by a bassline sequence with a progressive style making it contagious and energetic while the melodic riffs are abstract and with an arpeggiated sequence in the background that accompanies and that It continues to be dynamic in its synthesizer filters until a new synthesizer emerges with a colossal and futuristic sound within an imposing rhythm of Melodic Techno.

Without a doubt, a great exceptional work by Di Rugerio that will be playing in the dancefloors and being well received by the lovers of our music.
