Following on from the success of ‘Antologia I', BrokenHearted unveils a new artist showcase from label boss Eleven Of July. With a resume that now stretches a half decade, Italian artist Augusto Proto aka Eleven Of July has enjoyed a steady rise in the world of melodic house & techno. World class DJs such as Adriatique, Dubfire, Undercatt and more have chimed in with support for his stylized take on the genre, while a bevy of long-standing imprints including Click, Dear Deer and Movement Recordings have been landing spots along the way. The recent launch of BrokenHearted was met with praise from tastemakers and fans alike, with the first edition of ‘Antologia' being highlighted by Eleven Of July's ‘Cloud Gap', and in turn earning support from John OO Fleming and Mind Against. Now, continuing on an upwards trajectory, Eleven Of July returns to his comfortable home of BrokenHearted with a two-track EP entitled ‘Asleep'.

Getting the release underway and sitting as one of Eleven Of July's most heady productions to date is the title selection ‘Asleep'. Warm punchy beats and a full pulsating groove set the foundation for a narrative of colourful harmonics, uniquely tailored percussion and shimmering overlays. Pushing a poignant mood into the break, the Italian artist marries ghostly refrains and buzzing effects across the expansive interlude, building tension and emotion with each successive pass, before eventually giving way to a finale of astral arps and percussion driven drama.

Rounding out the release are the sleek grooves and deeply compelling architecture of ‘Anziques'. Prophetic throughout, it's a collage of psychedelic structures and alien-like designs which captivate leading into the break. Wavy rhythms and fuzzed out, astral infused sonics further the story as the centrepiece unfolds, bringing with them arcane moods and transcendent vibes, before a breezy drop puts your senses on high for a heads down conclusion. Eleven Of July has grown immensely as a producer over the last five years and this artist showcase sits as his crowning achievement thus far, with two distinctly unique creations that should find favour with progressive and melodic house & techno DJs alike.
