“Influenced by the duality between nature and urban frames and by its transposition to music, I want to purpose through my gigs and releases an unexpected experience to listeners. Over the course of my journeys and long stays abroad, I sculpted little by little my sound and a way to interpret my surroundings artistically.

Balanced between sound design and narrative composition, I'm focused on the strong link between space and music and put effort during lives on creating a surrealistic and intense atmosphere for the listener. ITAE records, a label I recently created with @geinst is the place dedicated to develop our vision and intuition of music.

 This live recording is a mix of improvisations and fragments from my last compositions.”

Jonas, who grew up in the far north of Germany, moved to Leipzig after 20 years of wind and rain. There he was quickly inspired by the prevailing sounds of the Institut fuer Zukunft and finally started the Kontinum project in 2016 with a focus on atmospheric and dissociative Techno. Over the years, the palette of sounds grew and now ranges from ambient to deep techno to contemporary club-oriented techno. In 2017, he founded the Nebula collective (@nebulakollektiv) with a couple of friends and started hosting the first illegal events. In the course of time, Nebula has also found its way into the Leipzig club scene and is now an integral part of it.
Since 2022, he has had the privilege of being a resident at Institut fuer Zukunft and co-host of the infamous Aequalis events. Over the years, Jonas has continued to develop and perfect his own sound and has had the chance to release on labels such as The Gods Planet (thegodsplanet), Lowless (@lowless-music) and Oslated (@oslated).

New York imprint Dusk Notes return with four cuts from ASC, Imugem Orihasam and label bosses Soramimi and Cory James. Since its inception in 2014, Dusk Notes have maintained their philosophy of pushing the more experimental spectrums of electronic music whilst accommodating to both the dancefloor and the introspective listener. Following Cory James’ ‘Extension of Life’ the label founders invite the first guests onto the imprint including UK artist and Auxiliary founder ASC and Japan’s Imugem Orihasam.

ASC’s ‘Barycentre’ begins proceedings with dubbed-out bass grooves fusing together with shimmering pads and twisted percussion to create a deeply, entrancing atmosphere. Next up, Imugem Orihasam’s ‘Anacasico’ is an effervescent dance track deploying delicate ambience, crunchy modulations and alleviating pads throughout.
On the flip, ‘The Lightworker’ by Soramimi delivers eccentric synth waves, haunting vocal samples and punchy low frequencies before Cory James rounds things off with ‘C61’ through laser shooting oscillations, otherworldly atmospheres and wavering drones floating above.

Welcome to a sonic immersion of different aquatic environments.

For this first release, Boskøw, Martinou, Upwellings and Artos Eleven take us on a poetic and modern adventure of the Mediterranean.

• Boskøw starts us off in Samena, a neighbourhood in the Calanque park of Marseille. A precious moment of introspection in the early morning, listening to the waves and voices of the Phocean city.

• Leaving the rocky coast of Marseille, Reef Surveyor by Upwelling takes you on a boat ride to watch over the local marine ecosystem. Its faster rhythm conveys the challenge this entails with the increasing impact of climate change.

• After a long day out at sea, Martinou’s Anemone sways smoothly with the sea current, interjected by small skanks shining through like rays of light at sunset. However, don’t be fooled - Martinou’s deep layers will slowly take over and entrance you.

• Artos Eleven's Baliste evokes a nocturnal excursion between sand and rock. Named after the Mediterranean Triggerfish, its broken rhythms and deep water skanks will bite.

About the sample bank:

During the last edition of our festival La Vallée Électrique, in June 2022, a participative workshop was held. Our dear Emiliano, from the French collective Le Séquenceur, equipped about twenty festival-goers with portable recorders. Our digital shaman then accompanied these novices in the nature to teach them how to make field recording.

So these are amateur recordings that you can listen to today. Festival-goers who have recorded the sounds of our beautiful valley, with their hearts, to learn something new, but also for the pleasure.

My heartbeats are adding up, warm, faster and faster and more intense.
Here it comes... I'm feeling them and it's not me.
My bones are positive, letting themselves be felt.
Here it comes... now I'm thinking:
"There's no going back from this journey".

On the other side of the river
Another me is coming... another me I am.

Will this be the higher version of me?
The one who knows love
Is it?

I shouldn't feel special.
But...after so much walking in the shadowlands, it is healthy judgment to recognize that my journeys are no longer the same. That I am going deeper and deeper.

Today I decide that nothing disturbs me, nothing takes me out of my centre.

That's why I feel it coming, here it comes, it's exploding and even though I'm an experienced traveller, I'll surely end up getting it all out without the fear of the shadows that usually laugh around.

Here it comes... it's flowing, it connects me.

That's the fear, the greatest of the Beasts of my nights.

To flow so much and no longer return

I'm feeling it, and I don't intend to relieve it, I don't expect to fail in my task of keeping it Beautiful feeling, it stays with me, it won't go away.
