Hell Yeah is proud to present a new EP from an artist that has been on their radar for a while. That artist is Napoli’s Quiroga aka Walter Del Vecchio, the Italian DJ and producer who also runs his own Really Swing label and has been given props by the in the know Test Pressing blog, as well as having all his tunes dropped by Balearic Gabba Sound System at every opportunity.

One of the finest talents to come from Italy in recent times, Quiroga cooks up hypnotic and trance including sounds from a myriad of diverse influences from opiate jazz to shuffling funk beats, from shifty landscapes to library music.

First up is VIAGGIO A TULUM, a perfectly loose and jumbled mix of sunny vibes, feel good chords and clipped vocals full of soul. The sort of thing that has you day dreaming of lazy afternoons and drunken BBQs, it’s perfect example of Quiroga’s efforts style.

NON DIRE NOTTE—featuring Acido and Really Swing act 291Out members Luca “Presence" Carini on electric bass and Vincenzo “Warren" Ciorra on electric guitar—is even more lazy and elongated, horizontal and blissed out. Twanging guitars off set pixelated synths, squelchy chords and Afro signifiers bring the heat and overall you cannot fail to get lost in the groove.

PRATI BAGNATI is a serene ambient interlude that feels like laying on your back and looking into a deep blue sky and second ambient cut BAVA is more textured and intense, with shifting drones and muffled voices bringing a sense of filmic unease to the table. Overall, this is a perfect window into Quiroga’s most intoxicating musical world.

For their first release of 2017, the Parisian crew digged harder than ever to propose edits still in the spirit of the afterparty they organize. 

The EP is composed by four tracks, finely picked and slightly edited by the DJ’s of the crew. They cover a wide range of genres, from french boogie to cosmic disco through west indies or new-wave influenced lyrics. There is definitely something for all tastes on this EP.

DISCOMAT003 - Discomatin Edits 03 - Snippets

Legendary DJ Daniele Baldelli, who was resident at the infamous Cosmic Club on Lake Garda and pioneer of the ‘cosmic’ sound, joins forces with Italian maestro DJ Rocca and takes File Under Disco on a journey into outer disco space.
Famous as an extremely eclectic and open-minded DJ, here Baldelli transports this approach to the production of ‘Funknoizer’. And in the hands of a master producer like Rocca the result is a track which fuses Dub, Afro, Disco and electronic elements seamlessly into a tasty alternative discoid brew.
Remix action comes from Brasilian duo Selvagem (big fans of Baldelli) who’s reputation grows and grows with every spin of each record and every release that passes through their talented hands. Here they dress the original in leopard skin pants and throw into into an all night, outdoor carnival party where anything goes.
Next up Pete Herbert & Dicky Trisco take the original on a heads down Disco trip and work it to the bone. Live driving bass, funky clav and a glorious piano line do a wonky waltz with the the Afro dub essentials of the original. 
Finally the man himself DJ Rocca treats us to a very classy disco boogie version that would have rocked legendary parties back in the halcyon days of NYC Disco.  Out now!

PREMIERE : Daniele Baldelli & DJ Rocca - Funkynoizer (Selvagem Farofa Mix)

We’re hopping on the laser grid and heading to Santa Cruz courtesy of Norway’s very own Karl Fraunhofer for the 12th Sprechen release!

The title track is the thing of a synth lovers wet dream…arps, classic drum machines, soaring pads and some killer lead lines are all here on this neon painted soundscape that sounds like the pairing of a lost Canon Video release and a level from Outrun!

Tone keeps the synth spirit going with a slightly slowed down affair that still throbs like an Italian studio in the mid 80’s. Jazz sounding melody stabs with some gritty chord work make this one perfect for driving your white lamborghini down to the shops to buy another pair of espidrilles.

Remix action is from an absolute legend of the true Ibizan party scene by way of Leo Mas who gets the house vibes painted all over Santa Cruz whilst still retaining an air of balearic-ness. Manchester’s very own Neil Diablo gets to work on Tone and gives it his trademark balearic disco makeover with dashing if Italo influence that is certain to do some damage over the Summer festival dance floors!

A young label known for its dusty jazz samples and superb deep house releases is coming strong this September, with the ELE 005 EP, courtesy of house music legend: Cottam. Following the triumph of their last collaboration ELE 001 - Cottam Edits it only seems right! Get ready for some more beautifully enchanting music. The first track ‘Love Affair’ is a floor-filler and ready-made disco classic. The second ‘Jigsaw” is an alluring deep dark bassy one. The tracks on the record are signature Cottam brilliance with pristine touches, sample-heavy cuts and David Mancuso-esque editing. Each track is made with love, passion and true feeling. 

First track, ‘Love Affair' will have you spinning around in a disco fueled haze with its uplifting groovy sounds. Using the same techniques of editing and mixing as the great Larry Levan, Cottam has crafted another floor-filler for dancers everywhere. As a craftsman who never does anything by half-measures, Cottam digs deep to find 70s disco jams from Constellation Orchestra and moulds the track into his own new funky vibe that is a true hit! Balancing his own hectic life as a father, this track touches the hearts of listeners fighting their own struggles and was made for anybody in need of momentary bliss.

PREMIERE: Cottam - Love Affair

Having shared edit duties on Universal Cave’s 10th release, Philadelphia duo @superprince1 take the reins solo for UC011 with four slices of Philly rework heat. From the soulful Caribbean funk of ‘Mama’ to the syrupy, slo-mo boogie of ‘Rose’, the A side is a sublime double header of slow jams to kick off the EP. On the B side, Superprince picks up the pace with delicious, private press disco for the dancefloor in the form of ‘Come To Me’, before the dubbed-out balearic bliss of ‘Buy You A Dream’ closes out the affair with a chuggier and cheekier high note.
