Shadows: [Initial Definition] Manifestations of internal doubt. They are not external entities but projections of the Navigator's own psyche. They "do not lie, but they do distort," meaning they are built from real memories and fears but are presented in a corrupted, untrustworthy form.

Mirror Doors: [Initial Definition] A feature of a psychological landscape. They are pathways or choices that only reflect the Navigator's own state back at them, creating loops of self-doubt.

Given the theme of distortion, it's possible the Navigator is struggling to remember the correct name, or that the Shadow is presenting a false one.
