Enregistré en trois après-midis en 2005 aux Studios Livingston de Londres, avec la participation de Orlando ‘Cachaito’ López à la contrebasse, produit par Nick Gold et magnifiquement enregistré par Jerry Boys, Ali & Toumani est le successeur de In the Heart of the Moon (80 000 exemplaires vendus en France) et le dernier témoignage discographique et d’Ali Farka Touré et de Cachaito Lopez.
Avec son groupe, Toumani Diabaté jouera le répertoire de l’album dans une série de concerts hommage intitulés « Ali Farka Touré Variations » à partir d'avril 2010.

Streamer & mps PILOT are StreamerPilot. Klezmer music has long had an important place in the Dutch musical landscape. Top exponents of the genre the Ot Azoj Klezmer Band asked StreamerPilot to select a track to electrify for the dancefloor. StreamerPilot chose the joyful instrumental frenzy that is Turkish Honga. Their Rare remix starts off unassuming enough, then surges into uplifting, progressive techno bass with crashing snares topped off by a wild virtuoso gypsy violin solo.
