Dance With Cote Basque People Vol 3 (SUMMER EDITION ) @ 204

Sei A back on his mother label for an outstanding contribution to Turbo Warehouse Series after strong releases on Kompakt, Simple, Hemlock and his own Seinan label.

The prodigal son returns with this 3 track ep of innovative club music. The palette will be familiar to the Scottish producer's growing fanbase, but things have clearly evolved on every level: finely crystallized percussion is the star of the show here, layered expertly into swinging grooves, accented by subtle melodies and hammered home by deep warehouse-grade bass.

A-side Blades of Brasil is a top class stealth bomber of a track- the tempo hangs down at 115 and the beats are low-slung, but the chug is fierce, the percussion sounds absolutely mesmerizing, and the build-up moves forward with an unwavering force of inevitability… a massive groundswell of bass emerges from the slow rolling magma core, highlighted by futuristic sirens, slick rides and laser-glazed zaps. Subtle all around, but truly masterful. 

Swoon picks up the tempo and adds a hooky vocal, carried forward by tense stabs and syncopated claps. A track that single-handedly gives the mostly irrelevant 'tech-house' genre a reason to exist. Amen.

Finally, Made of Something is playful by comparison to the other tracks, hitting at pop talent with the dubbed vocal and melodic build of the pads before dropping back in to a killer funk pattern of sick hi-tech drums and resonant hits popping off with brilliantly timed delays. 

The arrangement stays interesting the whole way through the EP. There's nothing obvious here, just raw talent compressed into clanging Scottish warehouse funk.

Music is colorful, diverse and vibrant as the butterflies. Almost 180,000 different species live in 127 families. The music by Boris Brejcha is like a "Feuerfalter" (copper). On one side the butterfly is relaxing and floating on the wind, but on the other hand he also sets with steam and fire to a fall into a low altitude. This is how it feels when Brejcha makes music.

The fourth album is exactly the description of this "Feuerfalter", a kind of backflash into the impressive career of Boris Brejcha. An album that deliberately shows how the artist works versatile. Times slightly floating, sometimes wild hitting the wing, always full of passion. The influences of his travelings and performances characterize his art again.

This creates a music that may be accompanied on Brejchas audience the whole day: at home, in a relaxed atmosphere or just at night, when the trip through the clubs starts. On the album "Feuerfalter" this individuality is turned on. Brejcha even picks up the desire of his ans to weave a few quieter tracks into his cosmos.

And we can’t get enough of UK’s, Ant Brooks. After the successful ‘Space’ EP (released in 2013) it was a no-brainer that we asked him to return to show us that Techno prowess that he brings. He brings some proper heat for the remix this time around and we couldn’t wait to share it with you.

Diynamic welcomes one of Germany's most exciting young talents for a label debut... 
Twenty year old David August's first musical introduction was being forced into Piano lessons at the tender age of five years old. As time passed and David's ivory skills grew, he came to love the instrument and excelled in its classic format. 
 
At fifteen David's first steps as a DJ began and it wasn't long before he gained his first residencies. A year later he made his first forays into production and in 2009 he  made his first impact on the scene by releasing his 'Praha EP' on Stil vor Talent. This was soon followed by the October release of 'Trumpet's 
Victory'. 
 
Now David readies himself to take his next step. Having recently earned the residency at Diynamic ́s Club EGO, he prepares to drop his first productions with the Hamburg label. A wonderful three track selection, showcasing the exciting talents of the young producer. Enjoy!

As always Kling Klong gives space for new artists and supports upcoming talents. This time Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold had no doubts signing this debut release from Stuttgart's dj/producer Ninetoes as 'Finder' is obviously a massive stand-out track which has the words 'summer hit' written all over it. So it was just easy to convince Leon and Re-UP from Italy to do the remixes and help to make this release even more oustanding.

Renaissance warmly welcome a true master, François Kevorkian aka François K, to ‘The Masters Series’. Regarded as one of the forefathers of house music, his career started in seminal clubs such as the Paradise Garage and Studio 54 before developing into a remixer (Prelude Records), producer and record label owner (Wave Music). However, DJing is François K’s first love and this ‘Masters Series’ brings together the many styles and genres of club music he represents over two perfectly mixed discs.

“Over the years, my approach in putting together a DJ-mixed compilation has been to use it as a way to share and express where my head lies musically. Instinctively feeling that this would be giving the listener an intimate look at what has me truly excited at that particular moment, but also with a view to create something that can be appreciated for a long time. As I often do, and rather than trying to remain monochromatically fixed on one specific genre, the aim here has been to take the listener through a condensed version of the same kind of musical journey that I naturally go on when playing an extended all-night set at a club. Most of the songs I have selected here are ones that I have been steadily playing and getting good reaction on, which gives me confidence that they will stand up to repeated listening. As well, a select few of them have not been heard anywhere else yet and are exclusive to this package. I came to fall in love with a number of these when first hearing them played by some of my uniquely talented fellow DJs; others came as recommendations from friends who work at record stores, all of whom I have to thank for the inspiration and kindness. Such is the power of today's electronic music: constantly evolving, recombining into new forms, then being shared and celebrated on dance floors across the entire planet. The first mix moves effortlessly from soulful Berlin production/DJ outfit Jazzanova to deeper dub-inflected sounds by Anton Kubikov via no-nonsense house and into dubstep escapism by A Made Up Sound, Objekt, Blawan and (an as yet unreleased track by) Scuba. The second mix dives deeper into classic house vibes before exploding with percussive techno and deep, punishing 4/4 featuring tracks from Luca Bacchetti, Delano Smith, Adam Beyer & Alan Fitzpatrick. It closes in blissful Balearic style with Chronophone’s ‘Eiffel Love’. The mix also includes two new, exclusive tracks by Mr Kevorkian himself: ‘Mystic Lady’ and ‘Dark Magic’.

François K’s career has spanned NYC clubbing history: from the seminal days of disco, playing with Larry Levan, house institution Body&SOUL and - having just celebrated its 10th anniversary in March - his weekly Monday night Deep Space NYC. It’s extremely eclectic format ranges from spaced-out techno to the deepest reggae, dubstep, hip-hop as well as drum & bass, house music and disco. In 2005, he was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame as both a remixer and DJ. Kevorkian now tours the world, taking part in many music gatherings, such as the Sónar, Global Gathering, Exit Festival, Bestival and Electric Picnic. With over 35 years experience of creating magic on the dancefloor to draw on, François captures his most recent flavours of inspirational club music in Renaissance’s latest edition in ‘The Master’s Series’.
