Really pleased to release the live recording from my set at Coda, Toronto. It is an absolute gift having 3 hours to take people on a journey in this room, on this sound system, with such a receptive crowd. Thank you to the Coda team for all that you do, for making this such a landmark venue in Toronto. 

That night, I was particularly excited to play 'Devil on the Dance Floor', one of my latest unreleased tracks, and some other unreleased gems including one by the legend Glenn Morrison remixed by James Harcourt.

A few years later, the fine sound virtuoso moved to Vienna and several years to Berlin, where he played in clubs like the Pratersauna and the Golden Gate. Daniel's adopted home is now Munich. Here he met his old friend AFDAX, who together belong to the Tohuwabohu collective.

Bio

Daniel ist auch unter seinem Künstlernamen „vølta“ bekannt.

Zur Musik fand er bereits 2008 und gründete mit einigen Freunden das „Quintenzirkel-Kollektiv“. Einige Jahre später zog der feine Klangvirtuose nach Wien und einige Jahre nach Berlin, wo er beispielsweise in Clubs wie der Pratersauna, dem Techno Cafe, dem Golden Gate oder dem Stattbad Wedding spielte. Seine Wahlheimat ist jetzt München. Hier traf er seinen alten Freund AFDAX, die zusammen dem Tohuwabohu-Kollektiv, sowie tanz.t.raum music angehören.

Musikalisch bewegt sich vølta zwischen Dark Disco und Melodic Techno.

T.Schaui – Groovy techno vibes from the gut, with heart and soul!

T.Schaui stands for laid-back techno or as he says, “techno with the handbrake on”.
But said handbrake is not a guarantee either; sometimes he forgets to hit the brakes...

His sets are a mixture of meticulous preparation and intuitive flow - he tries to find the perfect balance between depth and lightness.
He loves to take the audience on a journey.

Growing up, shaping and living in Leipzig, it all started on his skateboard with a Walkman.
The pauses between tracks or songs, the constant falling out of rhythm while pushing - all because nothing was curated or put together in a set. So he decided to do just that: connect and flow tracks together so he could keep pushing endlessly.
But behind T.Schaui's music there is also a story that is characterized by challenges and a strong will to live. His experiences have inspired him to look at life with optimism and to put his energy into music. This approach makes his sets a real experience – full of feeling, groove and passion.

Even outside of music, T.Schaui remains curious and creative. He is currently studying media design with a focus on marketing and UI development. He is particularly interested in the design of corporate identities and the creative development of brand identities - a versatility that is also reflected in his music.
