Sister Electra has, until now, mostly been all about remixing and DJing but this track, "When Romance Dies", is to be considered an own release…originally partly recorded and produced by Stefan Eriksson at the Spider Studio as a B-
side for the band Helm’s "My Passenger" single and during the process two parallel versions were created; one heavier ballad one and this dance orientated electronica stomper. In the end, the band chose to go with the first one, however not without hesitation. Since then the other version has fallen into oblivion Prior to this release, the Modernshortcuts label turned to Stefan, asking him for two further versions in order to fulfil a classical maxi single atmosphere, still with a connection to the 7" version. Of course; Stefan Eriksson could have made it easy for himself by simply and consistently extended the original into the 10" and 12" versions respectively – but instead he made sure that each version stands on its own, with unique elements. This behaviour is standard procedure for Sister Electra and other Eriksson work in general. His motto is well summed in; "Minimalism; the excuse of the lazy"

“SHADOWS” – NEW SINGLE OUT NOW!

In November 2007 we decided to go into the studio for the first time. Inspired by our favourite artists The Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division and The Cure our mission was to bring the sound of 80s alternative and Goth back to life with a modern sound.

BROTHERHOOD was officially formed and in 2012 we released our first album “Turn The Gold To Chrome”. Since then BROTHERHOOD have released two EPs, four singles and in 2017 a compilation album with all official releases between 2013-2017.

Now following the latest release, the double A-side single - ”Until every tear is wiped away” / “All that’s left for me is to kill my pain”, we would like to close the first 10 years in BROTHERHOODs history with a new single - “Shadows” – the sound of up-tempo gothic pop as we love it. Enjoy!

Bitter (Brotherhood Remake)

Brotherhood was born on a dark winter night in November 2007. The mutual respect for artists like The Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division and The Cure was the catalyst for Stefan Eriksson and Micke Lönngren to form Brotherhood.

Tired of the modern interpretations they decided to form a band that would stick to the roots of Goth - dark, deep, melancholic and epic soundscapes with chorus bass, sweeping synthesizers and melodic guitars in play. The gothic scene from the early 80´s has always been close in heart and mind for the founders of Brotherhood.

With the release of the long anticipated debut album ”Turn The Gold To Chrome” (2012) Brotherhood was nominated for several awards, received great critical acclaim and reviews. ”If this is the future for gothic rock, then, where do I sign?”

2013 Brotherhood decided to go back in the studio to start working on the band’s second album when Stefan got the tragic news that his father was diagnosed with a terminal illness. The recording and songwriting became both therapeutic and inspirational. Brotherhood recorded four songs about life and death, love and hate and how to set free and let go -
“The Dark EP”.

In 2014 Brotherhood worked hard in their own Spider Studio to bring their special version of goth to the next level. Old vintage synthesizers and drum machines combined with modern recording technology were used to extremes. “The Other Side Of Fear EP” (2015) was old school and modern at the same time with high recognition value and quality craftsmanship.

It’s 2016 and the band now returns to the scene with the single “Like A Ghost”. The song is an immediate up-tempo track containing all elements familiar to fans of Brotherhood. Lyrically inspired from Shakespeare's Macbeth the song continues the band's fascination about life and death and the darkness within us.

In the end of 2016 Brotherhood released the single “Heaven and The End” that brings the gothic sound from the mid 80s back to life with a modern twist. The song is a melodic, up-tempo track and for the first time in the band's career a song is written and produced in collaboration with another artist; Martin Sköld.

2017 started with Brotherhood releasing the single “Damned”. An old school gothic rock anthem, that proves Brotherhood has been established as one of the most exciting bands in the gothic scene. 2017 also saw the release of the double A-side single - ”Until every tear is wiped away” / “All that’s left for me is to kill my pain” and 2018 the band released the single - “Shadows” – the sound of up-tempo gothic pop as we love it.

Probably one of the most anticipated gothic rock albums of 2019 – “In The Violet Hour” will be released by PostGothic Records on vinyl, CD and digital streaming and download March 1, 2019. Brotherhood recorded the album in their own Spider Studio and the result is an album with amazing songs in classic Brotherhood style. “In The Violet Hour” is all about life and death, love and hate and how to set free and let go. The album contains nine songs and the writer’s intention was to create a classic, timeless album in modern gothic rock sound based on the roots of goth from the mid 80s.

Brotherhood is truly one of the most exciting bands on the gothic rock scene.
