It's time for our weekly dose of digidub. This one comes courtesy of Turtle Isle, a clandestine affair whose MO is to deliver quality, crunchy dub cuts, and nothing more. These two new bits from digidub pioneer Jahtari (Jan Gleichmar) are fittingly lo-fi and 8-bit, with every sound from kick womp to piano trill buried beneath a staunch bitcrush. Unusually, on this EP, space, rather than oppressive bass, is the place; 'Loose In Space' eschews overwrought low end to emphasise the kick drum, resulting in a stomping rather than system-engulfing mood. Dryness prevails on the B, 'The Stars My Destination', lending dub a good dose of space-funk and slappy bit clap; treating the void with sense of humour it needs

As we love their music, we decided to dust off some old dubs from the Bredrin Records vaults. Some tuff instrumental vibrations by the man like Benjah and EK from France. Twelve tunes and a number of dub versions, somewhere between rootikal and no compromise dubwise, all made for sound system…
They have recently been session approved by the likes of Channel One and were a firm part of our selection in recent times (plus made some little rounds among some dub connoisseurs a few years back). Now available for each and everyone! But better listen with some sort of a bass box!

Artiste reggae aux influences atmosphériques, Digital Lover rend hommage, dans son deuxième opus, à la culture Dub en confiant les pistes de son 1er EP "Derangement" à un musicien féru du style : Olivier Blanchard aka The Dubmaker. 

Ce nouvel EP, baptisé “Derangement Dub”, propose une nouvelle lecture des morceaux de Digital Lover à travers des versions dubbées enregistrées en live au sein du studio de The Dubmaker à l'aide de ses nombreux appareils, comme le veut la grande tradition du Dub, à l'instar d'artistes comme King Tubby ou Lee Scratch Perry. 

Comme une seconde naissance, "Derangement Dub" donne un nouveau souffle aux chansons du 1er EP.
