DJ Emma Loves To Boogie

The ELTB mix series is back with a bang, stepping up next is the one and only DJ Emma! Emma is a DJ, producer and broadcaster from Wiltshire with a passion for Soul, Funk, Boogie, Disco and House Music. She has performed at many UK festivals including Glastonbury, Creamfields, Wilderness and was asked this summer by Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy to do a special ‘Balearic Breakfast’ set at We Out Here Festival in her iconic ‘Love Dancin’ tent! She is a regular warm-up choice for Craig Charles and has supported the likes of Huey Morgan, Crazy P, Groove Armada and Mousse T!

Emma is also a regular on the club circuits in London, Bristol and Manchester and has played at some incredible venues such as 93 Feet East, Brixton Jamm, Hootenanny, POW Brixton, Lakota, Motion and Thekla. When Emma is not busy DJ’ing in the evenings, you will find her teaching DJ’ing and music production in schools and working on her own productions in the studio. Her debut track ‘High On Music’ was released on DJ Spen’s label Quantize last April!

Emma also has a passion for radio and has a show on Brighton based station 1BTN where she is joined regularly by pioneering legends and rising stars from the world of music, plus one of BBC Radio Wiltshire’s Friday Night Resident DJ’s as well as curating specialist shows where she promotes emerging artists and musicians from the local area. She has also recently joined the team at ‘Somethin Else’ as a freelance podcast/radio producer and is looking forward to working on some future projects with them. 

Earlier this year she did a ‘Trunk of Funk’ mix for Craig Charles BBC6 Saturday night show and is looking forward to her EP being released later this year on F*CLR that will feature an original track and a remix from North Street West. Keep an eye out for that and in the meantime, turn up the mix!

It’s that time again! Last year we brought you the 12 Days of Christmas, this year it’s the 25 days of advent, a mix and / or track for each day and we are super excited to show off what we have in store.

Sticking with tradition we kick things off with friend of the blog, Rory Hoy bringing you possibly his most eclectic mix to date! Starting with some house and disco, things soon progress to funky breaks and big beat to acid house, to full on techno at the end. Featuring some of this own tracks along the way, this cheery chap from Leeds has got good reason to be always smiling!
