Our 275th Global Vibe Radio episode features the cerebral and captivating, deep techno sounds of Spanish label boss, producer and DJ Reeko.

Born in Oviedo (Asturias) in 1981, Juan Rico p/k/a/ Reeko is a DJ who has rapidly attained recognition other artists have taken a long time to gain. In his case, it’s not been a matter of chance or coincidence, but the result of his innate and incredible capacity to be prolific, alongside his obsession for perfection. 

Reeko finds himself, deservedly, among the elite of Hispanic and global techno. He has released huge techno productions that have charted and played by the best DJs in the world. From his first tracks and EPs released on labels as reputable as Theory, Main out, Integrale Muzique, Deafmosaic, Inceptive, Rxxistance, Trece Records, Symbolism, Planet Rhythm, Warm Up or Palicavonzvreca, to more recent releases on Soma and Semantica

Reeko’s “pathological” label/laboratory, Mental Disorder, was created in 2003 and is the imprint under which he has released a plethora of works of ever-increasing quality.

Following on from Mental Disorder was label Evidence, launched in 2005 and used by Reeko as a conductor to open up listeners, to his passion for the darkest and sickest parts of the human mind. Reeko is an integral part of the PoleGroup collective, the cream of techno formed in 2004.

Spawned from PoleGroup is the powerhouse that is Selección Natural, uniting Reeko with Oscar Mulero & Exium. The consolidation Igniting a new level of Spanish techno and craft. 201 8 brought their initial self titled LP and October 2019 their latest LP ‘Left Behind’.

Reeko has proven himself over and over again a true master of the darkest and hardest-hitting productions, slavishly followed by thousands around the world eager for a glimpse of this elusive master craftsman. For those lucky enough to be present, his is a performance that both inspires and devastates in equal measure, witnessed at Awakenings, both solo and B2B with Oscar Mulero, Berghain, Tresor, Fuse, Concrete and Fuse, and extensive touring of the USA, South America & Australasia

Global Vibe Radio 275 Feat. Reeko (Mental Disorder Records, PoleGroup)

Head of the VRAAA label, both Projekt Gestalten and The Princess of
Death are the identities of Brazilian producer and DJ, Diego Garcia. A
celebrated protagonist on Berlin’s most sexually liberated dancefloor,
Pornceptual. Exploring pornography as an artform with the collective for more than five years now, their ringside promotion of events and parties globally has seen Garcia’s divergent agenda encourage and inspire its guests to freely explore their sexuality. It took to a point where a Boiler Room broadcast in partnership with the collective was deemed too explicit for YouTube before finding vindication on PornHub.

Adorning their DJ sets in various forms of white wedding dresses and
baroque embroidery, Projekt Gestalten’s sexual-kinks, queer desire and
bold feminine spirit flaunts a unrivaled promiscuity of tongue-in-cheek
tawdry that’s pushing techno music and its artistic, sexual appetites that
much further. While The Princess of Death is an introspective project
exploring distorting notions of masculinity. A figurehead within Berlin’s
queer techno scene, and diamond in the rough of ‘twenty-tens’ Netlabel
culture, Diego’s exploratory conquest of melodic, harmonic and hypnotic
sounds is starting to spread around.

Having found pride of place as an established entity controlling
soundtracks at risque nightspots and parties the world over - namely
making their way through London, St. Petersburg and New York to Sao
Paulo and Paris - Diego Garcia’s emergence from the obscure raves of
Berlin and its presiding internet culture now sees the artist, with a
burgeoning discography and remix catalogue for the reckoning, as an
out and loud center stage presence and trailblazing queer, music
identity.

A mysterious deep sound producer is forming in the dark and cold nights of the Colombia pereira is Gotshell.
Gotshell a.k.a Alessan Main, is the great ambassador of the Colombia electronic music scene. 
After his first release on the legendary Techno imprint, Planet Rhythm in 2014, over 10 more 12″ releases came out on labels like MORD, Illegal Alien Records, BPitch, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Epm music, James Ruskin´s Blueprint, Symbolism – to name a few. 
His Remixes on two of the most historical acid techno foundations – Synewave and Missile Records – got attentions from many of the keys DJs in the scene, such as Carl Cox who signed him on Intec under his alias Alessan Main. Moreover, Alessan Main collaborated also with Dantiez Saunderson on Kms records, Kevins Saundersons label – and more are yet to come.
Unpredictable rhythms, chaotic and psychedelic soundscapes describe his live acts that have brought him regularly in every part of his home country – Colombia – and to several successful world wide tours where he has performed at significant venues and staples such as Tresor (Berlin), Lantern (Beijing)and Flex (Vienna), amongst others.
Inspired by the first wave of old school techno while expanding deeper into even more electronic and instrumental music styles like IDM, ambient, experimental and dub. 
Gotshell is an artist who always strives to maintain his own aesthetic and refined his composition into underground culture.
Today we host this killer mix that weaves through shades of techno, industrial, body and future sounds ready for the dance floor.
