Soooo this was my 3rd go at “Winslow as a vocalist” after “Snap out of it” and “Amore” (which was also released today back then). I was living by myself in “the shack”, finishing up my masters, and because of the start of covid, had loads of time at home to really dive into writing and recording. It was also the start “YouTube winslow” which is when I met a lot of you that I still chat with now. 

It was the perfect concoction for someone like me who has always been confident yet apprehensive about singing. In a choir? I’m down. Solo on a record? Who was I kidding… but the more and more I leaned into that uneasiness, the the more comfortable I became. This 2019-2020 era was one of those turning point “I know kung fu” times where i found the clarity i needed and what came afterwards was the music you heard from me. These tunes came at a time where i was figuring myself out and it’s definitely reflected in these songs. Nothing like vocals to illustrate exactly how you’re feeling right?

Anyway, shouts to Mr. Porter for understanding the feeling I was going for and supplying a verse that makes the tune one of my favorites to date. Sometimes it takes someone on the outside to make sense of what’s happening on the inside.
