This song was written on a pitch black night in a freezing warehouse/studio in the dodgy back lots of Leeds, Northern England. I remember the wind slamming things up against the steel door and making me dread the idea of biking home. Then, in a single explosion, came the torrential rain in what sounded like outbursts of pure fury thrashing at the barred windows.
It was already about 10pm and I’d had a long rough day after a series of pretty rough weeks and had been feeling pretty low. It was kinda cozy being trapped like this, so I sat down at the piano in my jacket, scarf and hat to play something to soothe my turbulent state and this song came out. Hope you enjoy it!
