Phonica Mix Series 130 welcomes an artist who has defined and defied the rules of drum & bass like no other. dBridge, real name Darren White has been in the game for well over 30 years. Growing up listening to artists like DJ Randall & Grooverider on Rush FM when he was starting out shaped his ear for the sound that he would learn to grow with, love and mutate. With over 100 records released on labels like R&S, Convex, Metalheadz, Nonplus and more that span well into the 90's dBridge has become a pioneer well in his own right. Not only that but his label Exit Records which not too long ago celebrated its 100th release has been a output determined to push the boundaries of experimental bass, D&B and more. 
Having usually referred to himself as being producer first, it is not to be mistaken that White is a seasoned pro behind the decks. Having stepped into Worlds of his own playing with some of Drum & Bass' biggest names like Doc Scott & Goldie, the artist has also stepped into lengthy b2b's with Bass artist Youngsta and Techno legend Donato Dozzy (which he will do once more this Summer at Dekmantel). 
For this mix dBridge has dedicated it to people around him, a friends and family mix of sorts. With heavy bassy tones from the get go and experimental techno and electro flowing throughout - it showcases the sure diversity of one of the best to do it! We had a brief chat with dBridge about the mix and what he has coming up.

Conrad Subs aka Ad Krolik is an Ipswich based Drum & Bass Jungle DJ and producer.
His back catalogue is stacked with weighty releases on every major label within the scene: Metalheadz, Hospital, Ram, Symmetry, 31, Liquid V, Dread, Deep in the Jungle, Formation, Soulvent and many, many more. He has clocked up millions of streams online and also heads his very own label Koba Audio. His music has picked up attention from a myriad of high profile DJs such as Andy C, High Contrast, Grooverider, Ray Keith, London Elektricity and A.M.C to name a few.

Tessa & Rixa are a duo of DJs, Producers and cultural promoters based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since their formation in 2018, they have set dance floors on fire with their powerful connection and explosive rhythms, helping to take the bass scene to another level, both locally and internationally. Tessa, raised in England, and Rixa, born in Argentina, combine the best of both cultures in a unique fusion of sounds, creating a singular sonic experience that transcends borders.

Seven and a half exhilarating hours from one of modern club's sharpest.

Tim Reaper's mammoth entry for RA.1000 is all about range. You thought the Future Retro London boss was just a jungle and hardcore head? Think again.

The mix's infinite-scroll tracklist (the longest we've ever published in full!) includes a who's who of top-rate producers, from A Guy Called Gerald and Cari Lekebusch to Batu, Mia Koden and the one and only Shackleton.

Opening with weighty grime and ending on head-spinning drum & bass, the mix journeys through US club, wobbly dubstep, classic techno and, of course, many shades of jungle. Rather than go the easy route, the Londoner approached the assignment with the curiosity, integrity and vulnerability of fellow shapeshifters like dBridge, Calibre and ASC.

"The idea was to represent other styles of electronic music that I've been a bit self-conscious about openly expressing my interest in," he told RA.

RA.1000 isn't just another side of Tim Reaper's artistry: thankfully for us, it feels like only the beginning.
