Sounds From NoWhere is pleased to premiere a new Tolga Baklacioglu' gem on 'Khemia Records'.
Tolga Baklacioglu is a Turkish dj and electronic composer/performer working with modular synthesisers, guitar, and samplers, the owner of the highly respected vinyl imprint VENT, he is also an associate professor in aerospace engineering. 

“Blood Breeds Blood” is his eighth studio album and his debut on Khemia Records. 

Featuring Darja Kazimira, the Latvian vocalist, improviser, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Blood Breeds Blood is an immersive experience into the dark corners of introspection, an attempt to reconstruct the suppressed impulses and ramifications of painful emotions and traumatic events and provoke these links to a turbulent reservoir of destabilising anxiety. 
“Working with Darja relieves profoundly violent emotions as her ritualistic approach constructs a sacred and hierophonic space. 
This includes the pervasive tendency toward the denial of human identity by acceding to the expectations of a dehumanizing milieu, by accepting the animal-like or machine-like identity our fictional world would impose on us”, Tolga confides. 

Soft murmurings of a female voice outdoors in nature, like a scene from a Borowczyk movie coalesce against a hard pounding kick, mischievous snares, lazy guitar licks, and bitcrushed, distorted vocals in Beyond The Unholy Grave, where Tolga salutes one of his early heroes, Death’s legendary Chuck Schuldiner.

On the technical side, except the tracks “Altar Of Sacrifice” and “Blood Breeds Blood”, the whole album is recorded, arranged, and mixed live as one take directly from an Elektron Octratrack MKI.

Mina Lord is producing experimental electronic music since 2017 after studying drums and playing in grunge, punk and metal bands. Rather than sticking with one genre, she utilized a whole spectrum of music expression in her own productions to create whole worlds and atmospheres for the audience to dive in to. Her main focus is to create her own sound by recording and designing all her samples herself. Often described as very atmospheric, almost cinematic - she creates music and DJ mixes out of stimuli. A deep interest in the interaction of visuals, space and sound, results in linking these elements together right at the foundation of a project.

As an outfit that has existed on the fringes of the club scene, Operant continues their willingness to break genre taboos and expectations with their debut LP, Traumkörper, exhibiting a hybrid vision of electronic and organic elements that gives rise to a sound self-described as somewhere between extra-terrestrial black-metal, singularity-sludge, proto-psy-trance, anime noise-core techno and auto-tuned trap-folk. 

These disparate methodologies are bound together by the conceptual elements that operate at the core of Operant’s thematic universe: the transcendence and destruction of the body, consciousness melding with machines and the manufacturing of new realities. As a blueprint to new forms, Traumkörper sets a path both disorienting and euphoric. 

Over the course of 11 tracks the Berlin based duo and operators of record label, Instruments Of Discipline, Luna Vassarotti (IT) and August Skipper (AUS) birth their dream-body, an unsettling soundtrack for the strangeness of our times.

OPERANT - Access To The Simulator

Barkosina Hanusova's voice is surely one of the elements that we best associate with a musical project such as Years of Denial, and even with the current European industrial and electronic scene. We can say that her singing, the mixture of harmonics she emits, could perfectly well be part of the heritage of humanity for all that it represents, but Barkosina is not only a voice, her artistic facet is not only limited to her activity as a singer, her cultural range is wide, she dominates various artistic disciplines and with her new solo project she only shows us a part of it.

Unlike other musical genres, this scene, which we can call industrial and which is usually combined with other experimental or electronic styles, is often linked to other artistic currents, whether it be graphic design used in covers, performance, visuals or even literature. Barkosina brings together several of these subjects in her artistic trajectory, so it was only to be expected that her solo debut would not be a singular record release.

Fasting Culture is a 10-track album with a diverse sonic development. Each cut expresses a different feeling and situation, from the spirituality of "Self Transcendence", to the introspection of "Star Gaze", the restlessness of "Dead Song", the magnificence of "Art Is", the momentum of "Imagining Things", the dystopian discourse of "Beautiful World", the placidity of "Waves Alone", the confident state of "Never-Ending", the dynamism of "Burning Hope" and the emotional playfulness of "Inside You".

Surely, many fans of Years of Denial would have thought that in this solo project Barkosina would give more prominence to her voice, but this is not the case, it only appears in four tracks and in one of them it is barely noticeable, therefore, this album is a sample of her creative talent to mix and build textures from different sonic concepts. In addition, Fasting Culture is published together with a book that Barkosina Hanusova herself has elaborated with photographs, short essays and poems.

The second SPLIT record of the Pi Electronics sub-catalogue kicks off 2022's release schedule, combining music by Ontal, the duo hailing from Serbia and Athens based producer, DΛS.

After 4 years, Ontal return to the label, with ‘Almagest’ Parts I & II on the A side, giving two different interpretations of their trademark industrial textured techno. One with a focus on the bassline and one kick drum oriented version.

The B side of SPLIT#2 hosts Athens techno producer and label resident DΛS, presenting his music for the very first time on vinyl. Driving, broken beat techno with an industrial edge.

CHLAMYDIA first developed an interest in techno upon joining Berghain's bar
crew in 2019, and began experimenting with the genre during Germany's ex-
tended nightlife shutdown.
Once German clubs reopened their doors in 2022, CHLAMYDIA quickly became
a staple in the queer Berlin techno scene through her residency at the trans-led
label and event series SUBVERTED, bringing her signature punitive sound to
nightlife institutions such as TRESOR, ://about blank, Institut für Zukunft, and
others.
Through heavy industrial elements, rough organic textures, a stomping
four-to-the-floor beat, ruthlessly high speeds, layers of noise, and a progressive
mixing style, CHLAMYDIA's sets immerse listeners, in an ominous and infernal
soundscape that invites club-goers to revisit their definitions of "club music"
and rewards them with a highly cathartic dance-floor experience.

Infused by heavy barrel kicks and hard industrial rhythms this release embodies the energetic and trance-like state of a PARA|DØX closing set—with a clear message at its core: MEET ME AT THE RAVE.

I played this one for the first time at the EXIT event on the 2nd of August at Klub Pan (Hannover, Germany) within an extended Closing and instantly matched the energy.
I finished this project just a couple of hours before the set and immediately had to give it a spin - I guess it's one of those gems for very sweaty club sets.
