The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new mix from Alpha Sect. Hailing from Thessaloniki, Greece, Alpha Sect is a project of George McCall, which is focused on breaking electro patterns and pumping body music with serious punk influences. He started his music career as a guitarist in the post-metal band Sleepstream with 2 albums on their track record and he is an active musician with participations in physical theatre performances with his side-project. With already 4 EP releases on prominent labels such as OSM Tapes, Kein Rauch Ohne Feuer, Pildoras Tapes & Forkha, Alpha Sect strikes back with a vinyl release on SOIL RECORDS. Today we are thrilled to present this killer mix of his striking sound.

New Brvtalism No. 322 - Alpha Sect

A malevolent obscurity is followed by a sentimental melancholy drifting towards a deep journey into the introspection and the subconscious. It constantly emerges into the horrific and ritualistic soundscape of cryptic techno, of ancient tribal images, and of industrial dystopian visions, all melancholy is then shattered for having embraced evilness.
Giuseppe Sciretti, better known as Nigh/T\mare Alias, is an Italian DJ, producer, and live performer who is based in Puglia (South Italy). In 2017, he released a solo EP on the Bulgarian label DVNTT, and the following year, he made his vinyl debut with "Hypnagogia" on Thrènes records after also releasing music on labels like Voidance, Depth Request, and Borders Of Known. Blame Rec, VuMantra... in 2021, he released his first 2x12" album, "Katharsis," on the label that is now called Thrènes, and in 2022, he released "Ceremony" on Forbidden Teachings, which led to numerous collaborations with international musicians like Pact Infernal, Torn Relics, Alexey Volkow, LAIR, Prophàn, Killawatt, and many others.

He has a solid catalogue with tracks released on various labels including; X-IMG, Clan Destine, Rubber Mind, Detriti Records, etc.  Nghtly is a project based on Industrial EBM influenced by post punk .. with dark and stubborn sounds. Red Deviil [X-IMG]. Hailing from Chiapas in Mexico, the duo consists of Guni Ca and Blak G. They define their sound as "raw & fat", influenced by EBM, Techno and industrial music.
The work of the Mexican producers have been released on labels such as X-IMG, Intervision, Detriti, OSM Tapes, Synthicide, Body Musick, SHISHI, Haunted Space, N.I.M. Tapes, Miseria, Soil. They are also owners and founders of Astro Bar Chill, a club based in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, focused on underground electronic music. The pair's dark, thick and heavy music output contrasts starkly with their idyllic surroundings where they have cultivated a local scene.

Zona Interdunar  (ˈzo.nɐˌĩ.tɛɾduˈnaɾ) is a Berlin-based duo of polyhedric musicians who bring a unique blend of hard techno, metal, and jazz to the dancefloors of the era of the polycrysis. More a band than an electronic act, they use their instruments, electric bass and trumpet, to populate the sonic space around relentless techno beats. Combining experimental drones, half-tamed feedback, spoken word poems, icy trumpets, and heavy riffing with the attitude of hardcore punk, Zona Interdunar transforms live electronic music into a ritualistic, loop-free performance where the overpowering energy of techno balances aggressive metal edges and experimental soundscapes.
This set is based on a live improvisation, enriched to weapon grade material with additional overdubs of distorted bass, synths, and trumpets. The result has been distilled into an explosive sonic mix where influences from Zu to Britney Spears are mixed with gabber and doom.

Coming from a working-class background, living in the brutalist concrete of the 'Cité des Étoiles', in the heart of the Gier valley in France,industrial music has flowed through her veins since an early age, intertwining with memories of the mechanical rhythms and machine noises of her home region. Born in the depths of the night, Moravie grew up listening to the icons of post-punk and new/cold wave and devouring romantic gothic literature, where the macabre and the erotic mix. Developing a fascination for melancholic darkness also through cinema and passionate about the underground music scene in Lyon, she began her journey to become a DJ 6 years ago. Moravie's dark and fascinating musical aesthetic is inspired by occult and controversial literature and cinema: Octave Mirbeau, William Seabrook,Gabrielle Wittkop / Luis Buñuel, Jess Franco, Mario Bava, Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento... Between Eros and Thanatos, her sounds meander in an atmosphere that evokes a "Garden of Torture", like a tropical forest of strange and hostile beauty. The rhythms are dark and sexy. The bodies become wet, in an obsessive and piercing dance. And then, suddenly, the martial binary hits the dance floor... Cold shivers. It is then that light and shadow intertwine. Here you can feel the rich legacies of Darkdisco and Mexican and South American EBM. He is keen to introduce the new EBM scene, which responds completely to current political oppressions, considering the anger of living and music as the most revolutionary acts possible that unite and federate the masses.

Chicago-based experimental multidisciplinary artist Pedrolino has been
producing music and organizing events for the past 10 years, releasing music over
the last five years under names like Pedrolino, Baka, and performing as DJ
Chainsawman and Holey Head. They have released music on labels such as Soil, Shi
Shi, Forkha, OSM Tapes, and Northern Industrial Movement. Pedrolino’s
productions are brutal and uncompromising, favoring complexity while avoiding
overly intellectual posturing. “The goal has always been to create art that we can live
in—a work that addresses us as much as we address it, connecting on an undeniably
human level”.

A long-time resident of Hong Kong, Byrne has traversed the darker corners of the
city’s nightlife for the better part of the last decade, organising parties and holding
residencies at venues such as Drop, Midnight & Co. and Oma. His time in Asia has
seen him feature at some of the region's leading music events the likes of
Clockenflap, Sónar and Quest to name a few.
He currently runs Disco for the Damned, a monthly radio show that resides at FM
Belowground showcasing dark electronic music from guests from all over the world.
Most recently, Byrne has used the Disco for the Damned platform to establish a
music label under the same name. The label released its first compilation album in
early 2024, featuring works from artists who have contributed to the show in the past.

Undoubtably our bleakest release yet, they’ll really get you going (to work past a reasonable retirement age) in their grim and grey grooves, baby!

Futuristic and technologically led past the point of return, drowning in a muddy ancient river; the album conjures a world of firing pistons, frightened people and automated production lines.
The downtempo doomsday soundscapes are at once Detroit Electro, London Hardcore, Norwegian Black Metal and (dare I say it) Berlin Techno.

Here's a blurb from the icon himself:

“I wrote this album over a short period of time (about one week) in 2021. At the time I was living in Hackney central, in a relatively small and cold flat next to the loud Mare Street. I was going through a particularly dark and hopeless period of time due to isolation and post lockdown depression.
The windows of the flat were paper thin, vibrating loudly, too often. I had a lots of sleepless nights, which resulted in this record. I worked in a bottling line at the time, the industrial and repetitive, almost dehumanising environment definitely influenced this album.

The music was written fully on my Octatrack (apart for the track “Benders” which was performed with my modular rack). Everything has been recorded in one take as it comes out from the machine, with minimal mixing and mastering and no post production.
The sonic palette features a couple eurorack modules, sampling from Italian television and whatnot; but most importantly a lot of field recording of machineries I found in the factory I was working at, as well as random captures of environments around me - including Hackney’s busy streets - all mangled and arranged in the Octatrack.
