FLUID is a queer DJ and producer focusing on fast techno, including industrial hard hitting sounds, straight forward EBM and a bit of hypnotic techno. His music production is focused on full, dry, dark and rumbling kick, filling the tracks with evolving noises.

SUBVERTED is a label, event and podcast series focusing on dark, industrial techno with influences by both EBM and hypnotic techno with the aim to lead the scene back to its roots of resistance and diversity.

With the third vinyl release BRVTAL turns to the east and puts together two favorite noisy-industrial techno artists that originate from Asia, Ryuji Takeuchi & Öspiel.

On hearing the first sound on side A, we already know there will be no joking, because the legendary Osaka-based producer and DJ, Ryuji Takeuchi delivered us two uncompromising, heavy raw and noisy tracks. He has a lot behind him, because his first connection with electronic music was in the early 90s. Since then he lived in the US, bought his turntables, gears, got in touch with Techno and other genres that we can catch in his musical legacy.

Don't worry, there will be no drift on the B side either, because the Brussels-based, but South Korean origin DJ and producer, Öspiel represents another two songs of his own characteristic techno sound. Both tracks influenced by his practice of electroacoustic music, he has developed a musical approach based on the exploration of sound matter. His productions present a narrative in which sound design creates a dark and cathartic soundscape. Industrial rhythms are confronted with manipulated textures and sounds, creating an energy specific to the artist.

Starting off the EP is Berlin-based DJ, Producer, and the label founder of Rebels Conspiracy Cristian Marras. He opens with ethereal chants like that of a coven calling out. The track “Asymmetric” sounds like an existential journey within the state of mind - all of which is expressed with menacing acids elements.

Next is U.K.’s JoeFarr, a versatile and skilled craftsman who recently got music out on Soma followed soon by a release on Rebekah’s Elements. His track for Gegen is the bittersweet “Timeless”, which is built on the duality between soft hopeful melodies, and raw distorted basslines.

On the B side, Berlin’s OCD’s track, “Egoismus” is centered around the ideology of pain, and the battle against anxiety that is caused by a ruthless world. From pads, the track creates mournful melodies with an ambiance of ethereal heartbreak of that of immortal beings or fairies. Within this track, OCD brings you into an oneiric state where everything is out of control and too fast — a metaphor for our ages. 

To round it all up is British-born, Vienna-based Codex Empire whose productions you might have heard on aufnahme + wiedergabe or Sacred Court. He brings to Gegen his signature dark and intense techno on “ Hagane”, a track built on heavy rhythmic elements and metallic pounding sounds that bounce off each other in an unstoppable groove.
