Repetition embraces periodicity, much like echoes. Phenomena that occur whilst controlling various parameters of such periodicity were projected onto the subject of ‘water’. As a medium, water exhibits a flexibility in adapting to the forms of kinetic energy it receives.

Each subsections of the piece were named after the shape of water receiving different stimuli using various signal processing techniques based on the delay effect. For example, the part conceived from the act “skipping stones” imposes decrease of motion in the stone as decrease in the delay time of a sound, eventually creating reverberation and comb filter.

Also, an upward sweep of a tidal motion was expressed with glissandi and pitchbending delays, weaving a sonic tapestry that mirrors the fluidity of water's response to dynamic forces. A quadraphonic system was chosen to articulate the sonic movement within larger spaces.

Waterprints invites listeners to immerse themselves in a sonic journey that intricately mirrors the malleability and responsiveness of water, showcasing a fusion of organic inspiration and digital signal processing.

Vessels draws inspiration from the quote of a renowned bass clarinetist Harry Sparnaay: "If there is no air, there is no tone." This statement, playfully acknowledging “wind” instruments, served as a guiding principle for the composition.

The piece explores the imaginative realm of sounds produced by cylinders, vessels (akin to vascular structures in animals or plants), and all the intermediary forms between them. Rather than shaping traditional pitch-based figures, the composition intentionally embraces the physical characteristics of the wind instrument itself. It emulates the raw sounds produced by hitting a metal cylinder and the vortex- like resonance traversing through a pipeline. Prompting a desire to augment the instrument's nature through digital synthesis, electronics were created to mimic the distinctive qualities of a cylindrical object.

Vessels stands as a combination of the interplay between air and pressure, pushing the boundaries of sonic possibilities paying homage to the instrument that “breathes” life into its composition.
