In The Dark

It's been a pleasant challenge to craft Mark's adlibed voice.

Tried finger drumming... moments of 3/4, others 4/4... then I remembered Franco Battiato singing about 7/8 measures in Brittish folk, and... why not?

Similar doubts about the chords, I finally built a sliding harmony using groups of notes found along the vocal line.

Many laboratory hours after I got something friendly; time to jam brainlessly a pair of guitars which made some organic company to the voice.

Great temptation of singing with Mark, but I finished the vocal edition by building a final choir instead ;)

Well, there is something I really love…..you know when the weather’s been extremely hot for so long….then it rains with a storm and thunder, the earth releases this incredible smell…love it. So after the storm I came up with this track. It is a bit psychedelic I guess. I just could see myself under the rain and it feels so good…..liberating…well…you know what I mean. was written by Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen Jr,. while they attended
Texas A&M in the late 70's. It was released by Lyle in 1986.  What an American singer and songwriter.  A gem of a song

Have you ever seen the rain

So good to get my utilities back and return to SC.  I had a bit of a time
with Hurricane Laura and Delta.  At times like this you find out how
truly strong we are.  The out pouring of so much help from family,
friends, neighbors, churches, local officials and government agencies
were tremendous.  I have been singing this along with my grand kids
lately.  A bit of encouragement, wow What A Wonderful World.

Oh boy, another one gone. Charley Pride. a sharecropper's son from
Mississippi (I can relate).  I remember listening to Charley while
picking cotton during my childhood.  Charley was the first black man
to become a major star in country music.  He won nearly every major award available to country musicians.  Three grammys, best male vocals,Entertainer of the Year, Country Music Hall of Fame and wow,
at least 30 No. 1 hits.  I died a little with his passing.  Just a humble tribute.  Love you Charley
