Born and raised in Lima, Peru. Started learning music at a young age and played the mandolin for seven years, until i discovered the guitar that has been my main instrument till today. I decided to continue my studies outside Peru and went to Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) also known as LAMA, and had the opportunity to play and learn music from the best mentors such as Jody Fisher, Dave Hill, Bill Fowler, Jerry Watts Jr, Tony Inzalaco, Doug Ross, Philip Bynoe, Tariqh Akoni, Ross Bolton, etc.. I was recording with singers from LA and working on a reggae funk band called Lionesse, that was playing around LA frequently. In Lima Peru i started working in audio production for radio spots and commercials, I am currently living in Zurich Switzerland.

Here are Mr. Molenda's comments of Begley's work- (“Mind’s Collide” Trippy stuff, here, but it’s also very commercially smart in the sense that it inserts a beguiling melody amongst the song’s bizarre swoops, noises, and cascading echoes. Guitarist J.S. Begley evokes Bridge of Sighs-era Robin Trower, and then starts playing like a Tasmanian Devil on crack. Fabulous. 

Although his guitar playing is a sound & style of it's own, he's been compared to such artist's as Robin Trower, Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa & a Tasmanian Devil !? just to name a few by fans & critics.
