I recorded this mix last summer in 2016. The name Brahma Kamal, is connected to my birth name that was was given to me by my father. I'm named after a flower known as the 'Hoa Quynh' in Vietnamese, also known as Brahma Kamal in Hindu Mythology. Meaning the God of Creation and Lotus. It's a rare occurrence to catch this flower blooming. I remember as a little kid my parents would make me stay up late to catch it thrive. It blooms once a year and for only a few hours at night. This usually happens on or within a few days of my birthday to why it the name was given to me.

During this time last year, I started to experience a deeper connection to myself. It was rare for me to stay present at times and stay connected to the universe to only be distracted by doubt, fears and all the things that were going on around me. This also came around the same time the flower was blooming. Everything in your life is what you've manifested. Your intuition always has your back. Just let down your walls and trust it. I can go on and on about all the things that happened but instead I have this sonic memo to remind me of this point in my life. If you're reading this, believe in your journey because it's a beautiful one. -Q

Me and my brother @bscsaito made this tape in a week without a pause, straight from the beautiful gutter of Prato's Chinatown. Hope you'll appreciate this tape as much as we loved making it.
