Pityriasis rosea is a viral rash which lasts about 6 to 12 weeks. It usually begins as a large spot on your chest, abdomen or back, and is more common in places with a moderate climate.

There is no exact cause of pityriasis rosea. Most people who have pityriasis rosea are teenagers and young adults. However, it is also common for women during their pregnancy. If you have pityriasis rosea, the rash will normally go away without the need of treatment. However, it is also possible to recur in some cases.
