Something about Rundell… A DJ since ‘96, beginning his career at many of the UK’s major dance events (including clubs such as The End, Magna and Camden Palace) and one of the original Mixmag ‘Future Hero’s, Jon has been a regular at some of the most exciting clubs and events of the era. Fusing almost anything including Techno, House, Breaks and pumping Progressive House, Jon’s unique but diverse blend of sounds has won him many admirers globally. For a career that is just picking up pace Jon has certainly excelled having already played at many of the major dance festivals across the world including Dance Valley, Ultra Festival, Global Gathering, Sonar, Future Music and the Big Day Out festivals, as well as many of the most infamous clubs across the world.

Carl Cox sums things up nicely: “I think Jon’s a jewel in the crown. He’s really great with the crowd and his music. He’s been a great support to me. Put him in front of 30,000 people and he really goes for it. He naturally warms the crowds up. We always discuss what we’ll both be playing and he goes out there and does it. At the moment he’s better than most top DJs I could mention.”

“Well it’s really important to keep new and young upcoming, exiting djs coming through. A lot are making their own way and producing great music, like Nicole Moudaber who we’ve booked, she’s be many years in her own route as a DJ and I’ve always followed her music, deep powerful, music , lots of vocal, surprises she didn’t get booked. Jon Rundell is another example. We have to bring these DJs through, cos I’m not gonna be around forever.”-Carl Cox

‘Haasten’ (translates into hurrying) has been destroying crowds during Egbert’s live sets around the globe for the past few months. A dark commanding bass line that skips over the beat is accompanied by a retro sounding orchestral jab to create what is looking to become one of this year’s biggest techno tracks!

The B-side ‘Yourself’ has also proven to be a crowd pleaser and is paving the way for the future of percussion based techno. The punishing drums, deep basses, narrow mids and rattling hats kick ass throughout the track before taking a break for 30 seconds to introduce some melody and continue on mercilessly afterwards.

Austrian DJs and producers Makossa & Megablast hit big four years ago with their debut album Kanuaka, a wild, daring meld of club music and raw, authentic African rhythms — a superb dancefloor mix. They've taken their time over the follow up, and the thought shows. The title track has already been a huge Ibiza hit with its outsized, anthemic sound, but the rest of the record doesn't try to repeat a winning formula. Instead, it throws the windows wide open and looks beyond Africa to the new territory of Latin and R&B with remarkable success.

Not that they ignore the base of their sound. It's there on the bone-rattling "Wangu," with Tony Allen, the man who powered Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, behind the kit, adding his subtle bedrock of layered rhythms that propel the infectious sound of OG Spiritual Goddess's voice. It's an album where the guests, most of them vocalists, bring much to the party, but none as much as Hubert Tubbs, once the frontman for the mighty Tower of Power. His two contributions, "Peace" and "Coming Home," are ripped right out of his heart — soulful and intense, the accompaniment a gloriously spare frame tinged with R&B that lets the vocal shine bright. Nothing's phoned in here; every performance is majestic, every detail of the music carefully created. The instrumentals are equally compelling, whether on "Release the Pressure," which lives up to name with its twisting build that erupts into shimmering melody, or the twinkling atmospheres and bubbling analogue synths of the closer "Love You." The heart of Makossa & Megablast might still be in Africa, but the look in their eyes is decidedly global.

Side A is a hypnotic melody driven techno slammer titled “Dezelfde weg”. On the flipside is a deeper darker track called ‘Vette Sounds’ with creepy yet commanding synths over a pounding bassline driven groove. This track has also received the Secret Cinema remix treatment to brilliant effect!

No introduction needed here. The Advent and Industrialyzer have been holding down the Techno fort for years, yet they continue to reinvent themselves. This first full EP for 1605 is no exception. The title track is a dark but subliminal affair with dissonant sounds of a dark future riding on chugging beats. "Abstrakt" takes things up a notch, with frantic percussion and the familiar industrial vibe that the duo has accustomed us to. Serious techno here folks, from a legendary team that keeps setting higher standards for the sound.

Leipzig original Christian Fischer, DJ and producer for over 25 years by now, is renowned for his hybrid and flexible, heavy-hitting yet fragile techno style which fluctuates and oscillates between anthemic house and seminal electro while also embracing the most frantic frequencies. To put it short: his melody-driven, uplifting and progressive sets are legendary.

His breathtaking flexibility and scope is down to Christian’s residencies where Fischer honed his skills, amongst them at Leipzig city’s famed Distillery club, one of Germany´s longest-standing techno vaults. Running for over four years, his bimonthly Definition Night at Distillery has become a steady fixture in the event calendar, with guest DJs like Dave Clarke, Mark Broom, Spektre, Funk d´Void, Joseph Capriati, Renato Cohen and many more joining Fischer´s techno ritual.

His equally successful imprint Definition Records has become an integral part of the international techno scene over the years while growing into a varied outlet that has helped to shape the movement. Called into existence in 1999, Fischer released over 50 EPs which featured over 100 artists from all around the globe, amongst them Martin Eyerer, Justin Berkovi, Eelke Kleijn, AKA AKA, Valentino Kanzyani, and Davide Squillace, just to name but a few.

Christian is a happy-go-lucky fellow who always embraced stylistic advancement and technical innovation, new DJing technologies and new ways of thinking and propelling himself. Jump-starting his career on the befriended Statik Entertainment label which is his primary outlet for offshoot projects of the more experimental kind  until today and sits elegantly next to his more mainstream-orientated ventures, he has, since then, released celebrated EP on imprints as varied as Soma, Craft Music, Patterns, Takt, Toolroom and Loaded, as well as producing remixes for Slam, Outsiders, Alex Young and German singer Sabrina Setlur.

In2001, he teamed up with colleague DJ Murphy, the sensational turntable talent Fischer unearthed on one of his countless Brazil tours and signed for his label straight away, to produce and play under the moniker Deckmonsters. With their crazy turntable tricks, they broke every preconception what a DJ set is like, releasing their first longplayer in 2008, swiftly followed by Christian Fischer’s solo debut album “Bryzant Games” released on Bryzant in 2009, and his second longplayer, “Change Disko”, a very special album, containing the right track for the right moment in the right club. He also has tag-teamed in the studio with an array of producers, such as Whebba, AKA AKA, SuperFlu and Lucca.

In 2009, Christian started Bryzant Radio – a bi-weekly radio show. With the best tunes from the clubs around the world and featuring guest-DJ mixes, Christian invites DJs like Renato Cohen, Spektre, Perc, Bruno Morphet. The show is broadcast through the best radio stations worldwide from Ibiza to Canada and from Philippines to Hungary.
