I wanted to pay tribute to the urgent beauty of early New Order, a sound that continues to resonate with me in its emotional depth and rhythmic drive. Cries and Whispers, in particular, has always captivated me with its melancholy, mystery, and darkness. There’s something haunting yet exhilarating in the way it unfolds, a tension between shadow and pulse that I wanted to explore further and reimagine. Visually, I tried to blur the boundary between organic and digital, making myself look computer-generated to reflect the era when their music helped shape a new sonic landscape. For me, this cover was about stepping into their world, not to replicate it, but to evolve it; honoring the past while perhaps trying to reimagine its future.

I'd like to extend my thanks and gratitude to my musical partner and best friend, Em, for her attention to detail and hard work on the production of this song, for giving me space to choose a song that really means something to me, and for the final editing of this video. I'm proud of how this turned out and I thoroughly enjoyed the creation process! Both myself and Em hope you enjoy watching and listening. ~Jules x

COVID-19 has got the world all messed up. Much of the things that I - and many others - love, just can't happen right now. One of those things is a monthly Seattle-based queer fetish party called Pig's Fly, produced by Nark Magazine. I play this party frequently, and it's always a rowdy time. In the absence of being able to gather, Nark has took it online, and I had a great time throwing down 3 hours for folx that tuned in from across the world. It weaves through A LOT of vibes: synth wave, disco, tech house, and straight up queer sh*t. While I miss the club, it was fun to get DOWN with everyone involved. Thank you. Here is the recording.
