Here comes another episode of our “A Taste Of” series. This time we bring you Leeds' own @joemorris, one of the city's most prominent and respected figures, known for his peculiar style! He mixes deep and dreamy melodic tunes crafting emotive scenarios from dance-floor to chill out atmospheres. His mantra is crystallized also in his several, well received productions on labels like Pleasure Unit, Paper Recordings, Is it Balearic and Secret Life Music, as well in his search for the perfect beat through his Shades Of Sound record label, radio shows on Balamii Radio and militance on @clandestinomusic channel.

He has delivered for us a perfect summer soundtrack, blending various shades of disco music and uplifting deep house vibes,. Ah.... we miss the clubs.

Bside Incoming: Manuel Darquart

Up next we have Manuel Darquart with an eclectic offering for Bside. Originating from New Zealand, the duo first released in 2016 before moving to London. Since the move to the big smoke, they have released on Coastal Haze, Childsplay and CC Disco’s first compilation. The pair have also released on the renowned  Dutch label Infinite Pleasure and London’s Wolf which led to a remix EP from non other than Don Carlos. Over time they have played at Corsica, The Cause & Ministry of Sound and an all-nighter at the famous Spiritland.

Humble B Flats - Blessings of Sun double disk, coming out on Pond Life Records is a sonic spiritual voyage and document of the artist's last three years, overcoming grief and challenges - while deepening a sense of gratitude for the teachings and learnings along the way.
Musically this has translated, to a beautiful series of works, inspired by musical cultures around the world, this Deep House album is infused with jazz, psychedelia , tribal and heartwarming sounds and grooves.
With exception to collaboration with Kudo Sol and Ilja Gussarov (on tracks B1 & C1 respectively) all instruments, as ever, are played, recorded, rearranged and mixed by Humble B Flat, with a more sample based approach to the rhythmic grooves.
Even our most unwanted changes and challenges, are Blessings of the Sun.

a bi-weekly invitation into the impressive record collections of some of our favourite selectors.
An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between.

Music is for sharing.

'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
