What do you feel?

At the age of 12, I meticulously disassembled a cheap cassette player and artfully arranged its internals on a wall, using long nails to pass through the holes in its green circuit boards. I spaced the speakers far apart, aiming for the most optimal sound quality.

Naturally, I faced repercussions for this. A cassette player deconstructed on a wall was, in essence, my form of performance art.

High-quality sound was paramount to me, and I endeavored to achieve it by any means available.

Later, when I lived on my own, I procured some old-school speakers. Upon dismantling them, I discovered splendid Soviet-era full-range drivers, remarkable for their time. I stored them, along with their casings, in a wardrobe amidst linens and garments. However, they were arranged in such a manner that the wardrobe's volume augmented their sound projection. I even nestled towels and sweaters deep within to mitigate any unwanted resonances. At some point, I also stumbled upon a vintage Soviet tube amplifier. With this setup, I felt I achieved rather commendable acoustics. The sound was never blaring, yet one could discern the entire soundscape.

By 15, I had crafted my first mix using an old reel-to-reel tape recorder. I manually sliced the tape, adhered the fragments, synced them to the beat, and accounted for all phrases, measures, choruses, and verses. The result was a 7-8 minute mini-set featuring tracks from Michael Jackson's "Dangerous" album—a record I was particularly fond of at the time. My father couldn't fathom that I employed the start-stop technique intuitively, not until he inspected the tape and found all the adhesive tape joins.

Thus, it began, rooted in my childhood.

I have the ability to "see" music. Rhythmic patterns coalesce into designs, which then morph into fractals. This tapestry can be shaped and manipulated, forming my unique perspective. Such is the birth of a set: first envisioned in the mind as images and subsequently resonating from speakers.

This particular set dances with the lower frequencies, exuding a certain vibe. It's best enjoyed on high-quality equipment, much like all my music, but this one is even more so.
