Sometimes in the A&R game you hear a track that literally blow's you away, and ladies and gentlemen this track did just that! Hailing from the EDM hotbed of the USA, Jason Ross was not a name familiar to us at MT HQ that was until a demo was passed our way by Monster regular Muska.

'Burma' is the track in question, a uniquely crafted piece of art, which seamlessly blends gorgeously epic piano melodies with tough nitty-gritty electro style basslines to create an exceptional hybrid of electro, trance and all in between! This production has all of the elements which are good about the 'EDM' type sound and certainly is not all about the 'drop'.

Jason Ross & Seven Lions team up on their newest piece “Known You Before” with Emilie Brandt, a melodic bass masterpiece, out now on Ophelia Records. “Known You Before” embodies each of the producer’s euphonious sounds that compliment perfectly with Emilie Brandt’s heartfelt lyrics & vocals.

Jason Ross returns on Ophelia with "Known You Before", the third single off his debut studio album 1000 Faces. This is his fourth collaboration with label head and melodic bass stalwart Seven Lions, and their tracks "Higher Love" and "Ocean" have both been massive hits in the trance and bass worlds respectively. The two are fresh off their performances at Dreamstate SoCal where they teased the track and Seven Lions debuted his new psytrance project with Dimibo called Abraxis. 

While the track leads with an energizing bass-heavy intro, Emilie Brandt breaks it down with longing and alluring lyrics before the track culminates in an intoxicating blend of driving bass and melancholic chords. With Jason's debut album to release January 24th and his accompanying 22-city headline tour in February, "Known You Before" will be a mainstay in sets as he continues to pave his way cross-genre as a leader in multiple scenes.

Another fantastic EP on Enormous Deep from swiss based NORA EN PURE who returns to her home base and delivers 3 stunning indie dance tracks. 
We're opening up the EP with the title track COME WITH ME. A classy and touching piano chord construction builds the basic, slowly filtering up and down during the whole arrangement. Some jazzy vocal phrases and adlibs support the melodic parts. 
LONELINESS takes the more classic indie dance direction, heading on to lift off with a hammering 80s beat pattern, sweeping atmospheres, deep house synth stabs and a funky bass line underneath. This hazy, light dappled nu disco track will become, for sure, a secret night weapon in any whether indie dance but also deep house DJ sets.
The last slot on the EP is home to the track called NORMA JEAN. A buttery blend of percussion, Melody and warm chords, creating a relaxed mood to swing your hips. The track extends just close the 6 minute mark, giving you time to get into the mood and lose yourself on the dancefloor, just exactly as you should.

A legend of Bristol’s dance music scene, Jody Wisternoff releases his brand new twelve-track LP ‘Nightwhisper’ today. His first solo album in eight years, ‘Nightwhisper’ follows Wisternoff’s 2012 debut LP ‘Trails We Blaze’ and esteemed catalogue as Way Out West. 

A formative figure in the UK rave scene, Wisternoff first made his name in the early ’90s before cementing his position as one of the UK’s finest talent-spotters and DJs as part of the Anjunadeep label family, where he co-curates the chart-topping annual compilation series. 

Written primarily in 2019, ‘Nightwhisper’ is a deeply personal album born out of a time of introspection for the Bristol producer following the death of his father:

“It was a time of conflicting emotions for me… I suddenly found myself appreciating the simpler things in life in a way that I had never done before, but on an equal note also questioning mortality on a level that is only possible after the passing of a family member.” 

Amidst the hefty demands of fatherhood and touring, Jody came to embrace his newfound awareness of impermanence and loss in his songwriting. The intimacy of the album is quickly conveyed in the opening track ‘Morning U’, which features spoken home recordings of Jody’s father above a touching melody. Exploring the full spectrum of emotion, the lively progressions and lyrics of ‘Lately’ and ‘Reverie’ provide an optimistic contrast to more melancholic numbers ‘For Those We Knew’ and ‘Nightwhisper’. 


Sonically, the album is heavily influenced by Wisternoff’s eclectic tenure in the UK music scene. Launching his career in 1986 at the age of 13 as a finalist at the DMC World DJ Championship, Wisternoff honed his craft at the forefront of UK rave culture, playing warehouses for seminal promoters Fantazia and Universe, and hosting a residency at the iconic Lakota club in Bristol. After a chance encounter in a record store, Wisternoff joined forces with Nick Warren to form Way Out West. The luminary duo rose to fame in the 1990s with several UK-charting singles and a UK dance number one in ‘Mindcircus’, quickly followed by a 1997 album ‘Way Out West’, which saw critical and commercial success. 


A statement LP with a pertinent message during this grounded time, ‘Nightwhisper’ is a culmination of Wisternoff’s decorated career and progression as an artist, husband, and father: 

“‘Nightwhisper’ is an attempt at finding balance and inner peace during the ever-changing life journey… In some ways, it’s a personal lullaby, a call back to simpler times which of course is impossible, but comforting none the less.”

‘Nightwhisper’ is out now.
