BTAIM resumes its line of raw techno templates with a pair of stripped-back but funked-up floor killers.

Promising Berlin-upstart @Tecturemusic draws inspiration both from his hometown as well as Detroit, delivering two highly effective yet emotive club weapons. Their bold basement vibe may seem grim on the surface, but they glimmer with hope underneath. It is this very interplay between murk and melancholy that embodies the record with dynamic textures and a narrative.

In similar fashion Trevino pairs imposing low end rumble and bright arps, reworking the title track into his own DnB-reminiscent signature style.
With the addition of BTAIM006 to their catalogue, both artist and label have placed themselves on this year‘s watch lists for sure.

Fiedel has been a mainstay of the Berlin techno scene for years, from his time working at the vaunted Hard Wax record store to his collaborative work with Errorsmith under the MMM banner. In recent years he's also been increasingly busy as a solo artist, and now he's landed on Ostgut Ton with the 'Substance B' EP. The hard-charging title track debuted on RBMA Radio's First Floor, our weekly look at what's new in electronic music.

Following Mandingo’s ‘Universe II’ on Rekids last year the label has tapped Thomas Melchior and Larry Heard for remixes.

Mandingo is best known as Detroit producer Monty Luke, the founder of Black Catalogue when not appearing on labels like Planet E and Dogmatik. Echoing synths and crunchy percussion join trippy nuances and effects in Melchior’s otherworldly reinterpretation.

Meanwhile on the flip, Larry Heard distorts the original into a mesmerising number featuring a meandering hook and intricate melodies.
